Super Broadcast From December 1983 In New England.PFollowing the breakthrough success of Night Moves in 1976, Bob Seger's career went from strength-to-strength. By the time of its follow-up, Stranger in Town in 1978, he was achieving regular hit singles and selling out concert halls worldwide. His first album of the new decade, Against The Wind, would be his first and only to hit the No. 1 spot, which it held for six weeks with a total of 3.7 million units sold in the U.S. Featuring appearances from Eagles members Don Henley, Glenn Frey and Timothy B. Schmit, the record also spawned two Top 10 singles and won a pair of Grammy Awards in 1981. His next release, 1982's The Distance, was commended for having a more versatile sound and it featured a cover of Rodney Crowell's 'Shame On The Moon', which would end up Seger's best-selling single, topping charts in both the U.S. and Canada. To capitalise on the success of The Distance, Bob and his Silver Bullet Band embarked on a tour that would see them play in excess of 70 dates across North America in 1983. Towards the end of this jaunt, the band appeared at the 15,000-seater Hartford Civic Center in Connecticut on 28th December. The entire show was broadcast nationally over FM radio and it is this recording which is featured here on CD for the first time. Performing a rich selection of old favourites and newer numbers - including 'Turn The Page', 'Ramblin' Gamblin' Man' and 'Makin' Thunderbirds' - this set is a prime example of this extraordinary performer at his dynamic best.
