Michael Choma, Jr.

Michael Choma Jr., 84 years old fell asleep in the hands of the Lord on Thursday afternoon, September 2, 2021 at Mercy House of the Southern Tier.

He was the devoted husband of fifty years to the late Marilyn "June" Choma and the loving and supportive father to Michael Matthew Choma.

He was an active member of St Mary's Orthodox Christian Church in Endicott, where he took part in the baking of buchti (nut and fruit filled rolls). He was retired from Binghamton based beauty supply company Lynn H. Smith. Michael was an Army veteran, and a diehard Cleveland Browns fan.

Michael was an avid golfer who won many tournaments, including the recent member-guest bracket with his son at Endwell Greens Golf Club. He was a gentle and kind man to many of his fellow parishioners, golf friends and business associates and gave much to those cherished relationships.

He will be truly missed by all that knew him… Eternal Memory to a great guy!

The family will receive friends Friday 4-6pm at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect St. Binghamton where a Parastas will be offered by Rev. Nathaniel Choma, pastor of St. Mary's Orthodox Christian Church, at 6pm. A memorial dinner will follow afterwards at Endwell Greens Golf Club, 3675 Sally Piper Rd., Endwell.

Contributions may be made in Michael's memory to either, St. Mary's Orthodox Christian Church, 1907 Jenkins Street, Endicott, NY 13760, the Youth Golf League at Endwell Greens Golf Club, or to Mercy House of the Southern Tier.

Kindly share your reflections of Mike on his guestbook at Chopyak-Scheider.com.
