i watched this … hundreds of times as a child. to the point that i can recite dialogue word for word. love this corny masterpiece.
I know EXACTLY why I waited so long to watch this. Ugh. I was 28 minutes in and it already felt like it was going on forever.

This movie claims Shirley Temple stopped acting after she got "too old", but the real Shirley Temple acted until she was 21. For some reason this really pissed me off.

This was one of my FAVORITE movies as a young kid and literally no one else has heard of it........I'm pretty sure that I learned about the Great Depression from this, and I know for a fact that that's the case about Amelia Earhart.
When I found a super low quality version uploaded on youtube, I thought that it would be a nice nostalgia trip but it ended up playing like the reenactment footage in a true crime documentary. Every actor in this (except for the guy who played Bojangles) is haunting me now.
As for Shirley, to have a ten year old playing six passing for five??? and then the character doesn't remember that she was five for two years??? absolutely bonkers
