Where Was ‘Chateau Christmas’ Filmed? Details on the Beautiful Location

It’s time to start on those holiday plans — and the new Hallmark Channel film Chateau Christmas might have some much-needed inspiration. The romance movie follows Margot (Merritt Patterson), a famous pianist who returns to her hometown to celebrate Christmas with her family. They lodge together at the Chateau Newhaus, a gorgeous hotel perfectly fit for wintery festivities.

Chateau Christmas finds Margot in a musical rut: she’s not as inspired to play her instrument like she used to be. When she returns home, she reunites with her ex-boyfriend and bandmate Jackson (Luke Macfarlane), who, coincidentally, happens to be planning a Christmas concert at the Chateau. The pair work in harmony to bring live music to their friends, family, and the guests of Chateau Newhaus.

If you want to book a room or plan a party at the resort, you’re in luck. The location is open for business. Better yet, you can even visit some of the towns shot in Chateau Christmas. Here’s everything you need to know about the locations in the holiday romance:

Where was Chateau Christmas filmed?

Chateau Christmas was filmed solely in one area — due to the pandemic — over the summer. The Hallmark film was filmed in the dreamy Canadian province of British Columbia, in towns like Whistler and Abbotsfield. Both cities are just north of Vancouver. The Northwest area is surrounded by mountains, lush forestry, and relaxing resorts.

Can you stay at the hotel in Chateau Christmas?

While the hotel in Chateau Christmas is called Chateau Newhaus, the movie was really filmed in a spot called Fairmont Chateau Whistler in Whistler, B.C. The luxurious hotel has over 500 rooms, a golf course, spas, dining, and other relaxing accommodations. It’s located at the base of Blackcomb Mountain and surrounded by snowy evergreens. Fairmont Chateau Whistler has just reopened their doors for the rest of the 2020 holiday season — book now!
