From Sullivan’s Crossing to Nova Scotia.
TV star Chad Michael Murray’s starring role in the hit CTV show brought him to shoot in the area, and he loves it so much he’s considering taking up permanent residence.
Michael Murray – best-known for his role in 2000s teen drama One Tree Hill – is consistently mugging for iPhone cameras with fans on the streets of Halifax.
In a discussion with CTV he said that his family would love to find a spot in the area.
“It’s a magical place. Out of everywhere that we’ve been – and my family’s traveled quite a bit – this is the place we’ve felt most at home. This is the first place we’ve ever wanted to set roots and just do it,” he said.
“We don’t know what’s going to happen with the show. We don’t know how long we’re going to be here. But the kids are happy. And we know there is an unbelievable family dynamic that exists here.”
He couldn’t stop gushing about how much he loves those who call Nova Scotia home.
“Oh my Gosh. I just love the community. I love the people here in Nova Scotia. I love walking down the street, having conversations with random strangers, getting to know your grocery clerks, meeting a server at a restaurant, and then seeing them on set because they’re doing background,” he said.

Michael Murray is also known for roles in Gilmore Girls and films Freaky Friday, House Of Wax, and A Cinderella Story. The Sullivan’s Crossing series sees him re-team with Gilmore alum Scott Patterson, and it co-stars British Columbia actor Morgan Kohan.
“Having these cool dynamics … We’ve made great friends.” Said Michael Murray to CTV. “My wife has a bunch of friends now she goes to lunches and dinners to. I’m creating my own group of friends. The crew is unbelievable. We have the most amazing crew here in Nova Scotia and Halifax. It would be impossible to put my finger on just one things.”
The Sullivan’s Crossing series – based on Robyn Carr’s popular novel series – follows a neurosurgeon who returns to rural N.S. to reconnect with her estranged father.
The show airs on CTV and CW, and the second season begins airing April 14th, 2024.
