Aaron Boone brought Chad Green into the one-run game, and the reliever delivered by sealing the win. After the game, Boone said he went to Green in that spot because he felt he was the best option. However, he’s also still committed to Chapman and getting him back on track in the long term.

Ahead of Thursday’s game, the Yankees placed Michael King on the injured list with a middle finger contusion. Meanwhile, Miguel Andújar has also been out of the lineup over the last couple days due to hand and wrist soreness. They sent him for X-Rays and an MRI, but are hopeful that’s he’s good to go as he was feeling better Thursday.

Whitey Ford’s grand-nephew, Michael Sirota, is expected to be selected somewhere in the first half of the draft, and has also accepted a scholarship at Northeastern University should he decide to go to college.
