TIL about Brady Feigl and his doppelganger, Brady Feigl. In addition to sharing a name and extreme similarities in appearance, each was a minor league baseball pitcher and had the same elbow surgery performed by the same doctor. A DNA test confirmed no relation.
So glad the article thumbnail doesn’t offer a side-by-side photo of them. That would be dumb. No sense in having a thumbnail that supports the headline. A pile of baseballs makes more sense.
Also, definitely don’t include any photos of the two men inside the article either. That would be ridiculous.
It's the same guy.
Brady is Feigl.
Feigl is Brady.
Finkle is Einhorn.
Einhorn is Finkle!
Laces out Brady
This reminds me of the episode of DBZ when Ginyu used Body Swap with Goku
The American Dub title on Toonami was:
"Goku is Ginyu!"
"Ginyu is Goku!"
Or visa-versa idr exactly.

And the guy on the left is wearing a necklace, it’s preposterous
They both are, but one doesn't have his tucked in, so i doubt they're related.
lol.
The BACKGROUNDS are different! How could they be the same person??
other than the accoutrements, they look entirely dissimilar. i'd wager the DNA test was for PR / fun
edit: (sloppy photoshop) proof: two very different guys
*Two similar looking burn victims
lol it's legit the worst 'shop i've done in years
Appreciate the effort for a reddit comment
I'm absolutely dying laughing at that shitty Photoshop
Well it’s not fair when u add such great proof
Wow, you're right! When you edit the image, they do look different!
In all seriousness, this does help highlight the difference, sloppiness of the edit aside
Thanks, came here to say this, they look absolutely nothing alike, just super ginger.
I’m not good at telling similarities between people especially if they are related. But even I realized they didn’t look anything alike.
Yep. I don't think they look alike at all.
Nice man made horror beyond my comprehension
You… tried.
From the headline, I assumed this would be some 1920s b&w where every 3rd guy looked like a clone.
Prince Harry, that you?
I see Ed Sheeran
The one on the right looks like the guy that plays Donald Trump on SNL.
I thought it was Andrew Santino
Sadly Prince Edward is highly competent. Charles is well, average.
Same with Harry. Red haired, Smart, rebellious, not putting up with Royal BS. But his wife is a millionaire and he gets income from name recog. I like Harry. Wm. I feel sorry for.
When he was born, Charles said to Diana, 'You gave me a ginger son? That was Harry. Disliked by his father.
No wonder she disliked him. As if it were not his Royal nuts that held red, Scottish hair genes. I have some of same, as when younger occ. red hairs would fall out of my beard, and in a white sink, were quite distinctively red. Apparently the Gordon blood. From Scotland.
Charles? well good he became King when in his 70's. He can single handedly destroy the Monarchy.
HM, Qu. Elizabeth 2's mother Mary's father:
14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne in the Peerage of Scotland, and his wife, Cecilia Cavendish-Bentinck.
There's yer ginger, Charlie. Yer Scot ancestry. Then his scottish Palace, Balmoral and sponsor of Highland Games.
Ya think?
wtf are you smoking
I hope this is some kind of copypasta and not a weird rant from the heart
What the hell am I reading.

Okay so which one is Brady Feigl?
If you shave one of their beards then they wouldn’t look the same, at first glance from like 15 feet away they look similar but if you just look at them for 20 seconds you can see the difference
I'd say it's like a real life Mario and Luigi but these guys are more identical than those two
Definitely related
There is a video which flicks between the two (agree a photo would be useful though)
You’re not wrong, but the video from the article was a waste of time. I couldn’t get the audio to work anyway. There is no excuse for them not have led with a single simple photo.
Journalism is dead.
You mean like the last time this was posted?
It's in the video. Absolutely could be mistaken by a wife at the grocery store.
Depending on what he’s wearing. If no cup then might be able to tell by feel.

I read about these guys yesterday. Reminds me of Will and William West.
Wicki wicki Will Will West
Desperados
Rough rider, no you don't want nada
None o' this, six-gunnin' this
Buffalo buffalo buffalo lololololololo
Very cool story current consensus is the wills were twins
At two different ages? Mama took her time delivering.
As a doctor from the 1800s, I can confirm this is possible with pelvic floor exercises and cocaine.
They may still be twins if were separated when they were really young, and the records were inaccurate.
Probably cousins
Haha Billy West? What a stupid, phony, made-up name!
Definitely not the same guy.
They were definitely related. The article says prison records show them both corresponding with the same family members from prison.
Article states... checking to see if they were long lost twins, separated at birth... a few paragraphs after giving their differences in age (5 years)
It's not common, but it's certainly possible with in vitro fertilization. One egg gets stored longer than the other. I believe a Chinese woman had twins that were ten years apart.
There was also a highly controversial, if not completely unethical, experiment performed a while back where identical twins that were given up for adoption were separated at birth and monitored discreetly as they grew up in an attempt to gauge how much of human behavior is nature versus nurture.
I believe that few believe many round here....
Why was no picture included?
If you google Brady Feigl it'll show the two of them
Honestly, their facial features are very different. Sure they are similar, but their beards hide some of the differences. I seem to have slightly better facial recognition than the average person, so maybe I can see the subtle differences better.
If someone told me they were brothers I would believe them, but otherwise it's not a conclusion I would jump to.
Let's say it like this, one of them look like Ed Sheeran, and the other one doesn't.
I seem to have slightly better facial recognition than the average person
Humblebrag but okay
it’s his minor superpower
You're supposed to say "Weird flex but okay".
Weird flex.
you probably do have better than average facial recognition cause the internet has taught me that face-blindness is a much, much bigger phenomenon that has been thought previously. the 'doppelgänger game' that people like to do on the majority of every original-content vids, 99x out of 100 i'm like "no, just no. have you ever even looked at the person you're comparing them to, or does hair and clothes and vibe do all the heavy lifting for you?"
Their eyes are completely different. Just two red head white guys and people are like... they look the same!
Agree, their noses and lips are different.
One of them also has a much wider face than the other. If he turns his head to about a ¾ profile, they look more alike; but honestly, without the beards and glasses, I don't think we'd be having this conversation.
How dare you suggest I invest a little time or do some fact checking on TIL post on Reddit. Everything should be able to be seen directly from the post /s
It's an article talking about how similar they are. It's stupid to not include a picture.
I so sorry! commits seppuku
oh great, now I need to Google “Seppuku”

I worked at Boeing on two different projects with a man who had my same name.
He once had an email problem, and IT uninstalled then re-installed it, but re-installed his email to my account instead of his. His secretary would not believe me until I printed out and brought her a personal email of his.
When I started my current job 15 years ago, the company my office space is rented from had three employees with the exact same name.
I worked in the same building at the same company as someone with with the same name, except our middle names were different. We worked on similar products, but in different organizations, so there was never any real confusion as to who was who. Sometimes things were delivered to me instead of him. Mostly trade magazines, etc.
I was behind a person with the same full name (including middle name, not just initial) as me at my bank once. The teller got a supervisor to double check that my ID was real
Guy at work as the same first name, middle initial and last name as me. It's very annoying.
That's crazy. There's a guy that's close in age, one town over with same name. My last name is unique and Polish. I often wonder if we're related somehow but I don't think we are.
Course not. IT, the newest game of Monopoly.
The more they complicate the plumbing the easier it is to stop up the drain.....
Recently found out Bojan Bogdanovic and Bogdan Bogdanovic both play in NBA and are somehow not related or even from the same country.
Yes, they are, but remotely. Names do not change much. Many names are words which have rallen out or common usage. But the long sustained family lines preserve for centuries.
Mine is based upon vikkin, Viking in Inglischen. North of Eburacum latin, Yorik Old dansk, and now York, UK.
No, they are not related.
Well... If you go back far enough, they probably are. But then, you and I have a pretty decent chance of being related by that metric. Sharing an unusual last name is usually a pretty good sign that the relationship isn't much further back than a couple centuries. I'll confess that I'm not sure how unusual "Bogdanovic" as a last name is, though. If it's a professional-title-turned-surname like Smith or Miller, then that does push back the most likely earliest relation.
Minor league trades can be epic. "I would like to trade for your Brady Feigl for a barrel of peanuts, 2 bushels of strawberries and 4 tickets to your fair."
& yer sister's virginity. LOL...
Sorry my bad. She was only "not a virgin" 5 times....
Had a prof friend whose name was Heyman, from Belgique. This was the source of many jokes, often scurrilous. As latin orgin of the female membrane, that is an international joke.
Had a buddy who would always call out to his buds, Hi, Man!! Until we told him the word. After which, he blushed 3 shades of red, rose and pink. But he learned. The evolution of that membrane is a great medical mystery, but might have social sources.

Knowledge can be survival. ignorance of basic ThermD facts is not good, long term.
That is a fact right this moment. That is not necessarily going to be a fact in 20 years. The fact of the matter is that a computer can process information at magnitudes far greater and faster than our own brain. We are just specialized to a point where certain aspects of human cognition are.morw advanced than AI. True AI never stops learning. It assimilates every data point whether relevant or not and learns how to associate relevance. As we improve technology and our understanding of how the human brain works, we are going to use that understanding and knowledge to bring AI capabilities closer to those benchmarks. Right now, today, we don't have to worry about robots taking our jobs. In a century, if we're still around and progressing...this most certainly will be a concern.
It's a big enough issue that there are entire scientific, ethical and legal committees built around understanding and preparing for this eventuality.
Imagine a computer that has access to every single decision made in the last 100 years, it has access to all documented human knowledge and has the capability to experiment with both items to continually increase its own understanding of both concepts. Imagine the same computer being able to parse through that data in it's entirety in seconds, constantly and run simulations based on its own predictions...removing inconsequential data and marking consequential data for further efficiency in processing similar decisions. That's what AI engineers are working to achieve and with advanced in quantum computing, those speeds/bandwidth are very much within our grasp.
If they shaved the beard, I have a feeling they would look more different. The beard covers up a lot of the face
White folk just can't tell gingas apart
This was my favourite doppelganger news story. They both just look so joyful at finding each other 😊
The first photo they look really similar. The second photo at the bottom of the article, not so much. Not just the height difference, also the heads are different shapes.
I feel like the simulation is just pumping out stock npcs, at this point the devs are getting lazy.
I'm convinced there's something wrong with reality. This level of coincidence is just ridiculous.
Welcome to the universe of complex systems and stochastic events!!
Pretty sure they're both left handed relievers too. I know one is for sure
The left-handed reliever is the move I use when my right hand gets tired
Human brains just can't handle reality https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthday_problem
It's not even like Feigl is a common last name.
Y'all racists out here saying you can't tell gingers apart, that first one is clearly Brady Feigl
Glitch in the simulation. There is still a couple of bugs remaining in Earthsim 2100. Tech support is aware of the issue and they should remove the extra Brady Feigl in the coming weeks.
Lazy use of control c
They don't look that much alike. It's just they have a similar beard.
Yeah, once you see them side by side, it's clear the "doppelganger" label is just because they're tall redheaded dudes with beards and similar glasses. The visual similarity pretty much ends there.
Yes and every pic has them in baseball caps so you can't see the head hair or head shape. Seems like there's a different eye colour too. Are height weight etc all the same?
Pretty much. Couple pounds difference & 1 inch difference in height.
But see, only 1-2% of the population is redheaded. Way less than lefthanders at 12%, which they are. So having the same name and being redheaded and lefthanded is like a billion dollar lottery for these two. They should play.
Just watched a card counter video where he got kicked out of a brand new casino for the same reason lol
There was nothing wrong with it... until I was about 17 years old and that no-talent ass clown got into the minors.
Hmm... well, why don't you just go by Brad instead of Brady?
No way! Why should I change? He's the one who sucks.
Popped in your Google feed today too, huh? Who else??
ETA: words
One of them should change their name to Frady Beigl to assert dominance
How do you not feel like an NPC or simulation at that point?
The simulation ran out of RAM
The simulation must have duplicated an NPC file
Just another glitch in the matrix
Show me the pictures wtf I don’t wanna click through an article for this bullshit
So they are just generic NPCs that spawned twice.
Tell me we’re not in a simulation
The poor doctor is probably losing his mind with Deja Vu.
One dude wears green, and the other wears blue.now do you sign both and pull a Jose Conseco and his brother?
Glitch in the matrix.
Damn my unoriginality! Just seen OP said exactly that
Doppelgingers.
Glitch in the matrix
Interestingly Brady Feigl was NOT a minor league baseball pitcher, the pitcher was ANOTHER man with the same name.
8 billion people on Earth, and these two are very similar with the same name.
Coincidence? Yes.
Fun to note? Also yes.
Both left handed, 12% of pop ...both redheaded, 1-2% of pop...both play baseball...had the same surgery...they are a statistical aberration equivalent of Einstein-Rosenburg / Bosen-Higgs proportions. It's just insane. Someone do the Math! Please!
Perhaps one of them came over from a parallel universe and is actually just a different version of the other
Same name, which is very rare means they were distant cousins. That is very common among the Penn Deutsch. Fiegels in my family case meant their last name was Deutsch but they spoke French. Protestants, tho. Alsaace/Lorraine , borders of Deutschland und France explains that.
familysearch.org records shows that.
Several years back the Braves drafted two RHPs with the same name. The first one was a mistake as they’d meant to draft the other guy. Thankfully no other team took him that round, so they finally got the right guy in the next round.
What I want to know is, was either of them related to Freddy Bagel?
All Americans look like that. Stupid baseball caps oversized t shirts paired with ill fitting jeans and a face riddled with optimism and ignorance. Just so happens this pair are both bearded gingers.
So two guys with differently shaped noses, differently shaped eyes and different weight wear the same baseball cap and glasses and everyone just goes "ooooh"?
No one is saying they’re identical but the are very similar and do look like they could be related. Add in all of the other similarities between them outside of looks and it is interesting.
I don't really think they look alike at all. If they were to shave their beards and not wear glasses or hats I think there would be a lot less resemblance than it appears at first glance. We tend to shortcut people in our minds with eye-catching features, so we look at these two guys and our brains go, "oh, tall redheaded guy with a beard and glasses," and then another tall redheaded guy with a beard and glasses stands next to him and our brains go, "It's the same guy!" But if you actually look at their faces next to each other there's basically no resemblance aside from the red hair, glasses, and beards.
Even if they were styled differently, they do still have enough similarities that they would look like they could be related. But again, their appearance is not the only factor in this.
Having the same glasses and style of beard are part of the similarities they share, and those were both choices they made in their appearance(So, same choice). Along with the same profession, undergoing the same surgery, same name. When you start adding everything together it does get interesting the amount of similarities they share.
Again, no one is saying they're identical, but they do share a lot of similarities both in appearance and in other factors.
they do still have enough similarities that they would look like they could be related.
No shot. If they shaved and took their glasses off not a single person on the internet would say they looked similar unless they'd never seen a white person before.
And the glasses are very prominent and eye-catching. Glasses, beard, cap. Heck, one of them has a very noticeable scar on his cheek.
Doppelganger... nope.
Ehm.. you noticed the "Doppelganger" in the title, yes?
You noticed the text immediately following which calls out similarities without saying they're identical and the article it links to which never uses the world Doppelganger or identical, yes?
Their visual appearance is similar, especially adding in the non physical aspects of it (the style of beard and glasses). Their lives have a lot of similarities. But nothing says they're identical. Doppelganger also has multiple meanings and uses which extend past physical appearance.
Their close enough that you'd easily mix them up without looking closer and when you combine that with them both being minor league pitchers, sharing the same name, having the same surgery done by the same doctor you get a really neat coincidence.
BUT THEY HAVE THE SAME NAME!!!
Reminds me of the doppelgänger of Mike Portnoy, one of the best drummers of the world and in this time, he was part of Dream Theater. There was a guy that looked exactly like him, learned also how to speak and act like him, he was so good that he was able to cheat the people. They really believed he was Portnoy. He used this for several crimes: Portnoy is a man that gets every equipment he wants from the label. So that guy just posed as him and took some very expensive drum equipment with him.
it's funny to me because i live near portnoy, and the genuine article keeps showing up at shows i attend -- it's fun to watch him air-drum to bands i guess we both like (huge progger here)
the full story involves i think faux-portnoy flirting with dudes and scamming them -- justin whang has a video on it i'd recommend, such a weird phenomenon
Do you know him personally? I never had the pleasure to meet him, only saw him on stage with Dream Theater two times in the past. Well, i better don't challenge him to a drummer contest, who can play it better, haha.
It's always interesting how the characters are, some musicians are isolating themselves and leave the concert hall once the concert is over and don't talk to anyone, don't even know the names of the people. Others are the exact opposite, like Lemmy Kilmister: That guy was always running around the area with a bottle of whisky and drank with everybody. No matter if he was a guest on the concert, a roadie that helps on tour or musicians from other bands, he was always meeting everyone.
So, i wonder which character Portnoy is?
ahhhh Lemmy was a legend
I don't know Portnoy personally, but at one show, my friend encouraged me just to go up to him in the audience and shake his hand. I was like, "Idk man, he's just tryna enjoy the Steven Wilson show like a regular guy," but he kept encouraging me, so I did. And Mike seemed really nice! Just a brief lil "Thanks for the music" and a smile from him but that was dope. I'm glad you and I both got to see him live with DT a few times before he left the band!
So that was Portnoy's complaint, then?
Clueless. Totally sans insights.
Or the anecdote by the Brits. "So what if I missed the point
That's because you were educated in the US, not the UK."
Many of my Euro amigos can't believe I'm from the USA, because I'm too learned to credibly from here.
What probably happened is that their ancestors came from the same village in germany. Seems like the last name has origins in lower saxony.
So they probably belonged to the same clan, but not the same family.
So, ones 23 and the others 28 and they took a DNA test to see if they were long lost twins? I'm sick AF and tired but what?
And they're gingers!
Looks like a Coherence situation here.
They don’t look that much alike, two white guys with ginger beards who both play baseball and share a name. The same surgery, because they both play baseball, the same surgeon because that surgeon is the best in the country at that particular surgery. The same name because, Brady, is a popular name, and Feigl was a popular name to adopt for German immigrants in the late 19th century.
Are you always a spoilsport?
Sounds like Penn Deutsch me. IN THAT case however, French. My first cousins are Fiegels.
Glitch in the matrix for sure.
God was just like "agh did I finish this guy already? Eh I'm sure it'll be fine let's just send him off"
Brotha from anotha motha
This is the real reason for depopulation lmaooo. We are running out of unique npcs.
The simulation is breaking down.
Explanation: We live in a hyper reality simulation. There was a glitch. This was it. It wasn't meant to be discovered but it was and since then has been resolved. Now it's your job to forget everything I said and to think this life is a simple ordinary one
If you see something, say nothing and drink to forget
So I’m a student and I have an interest in a particular field of science. I was reading an article one day about my very niche interest and saw a quote from a woman my exact name who is a specialist in the very specific field I want to go into. Was very trippy. My name isn’t super unique by any means, but it’s not super common and my field of interest is definitely not common. Among people with my exact name, it clearly is.
Imagine when the DNA would have been exactly the same, like one was from a different dimensions or something.
If I met MoxxieJohnny 2.0, I'd be tag-teaming work with him. Boss man ain't gonna know what him.
This has caused me to lose all confidence in DNA testing.
These are the same dude.
I had this happen to me kinda. My first day of drivers ed we had to sign our names to check attendance and I saw that my name was already written down so I just wrote it down again and the instructor had to verify that we both had the same name. It’s not even that common of a Hispanic first and last name. Then it turns out that he was from a town a few towns away that we had previously moved from and was friends with my old friend group. I definitely had an existential crisis after that.
Whoa that’s so ducking cool
Their faces actually arent all that alike. Its the hat, glasses, & mainly the beards that make them look similar. Their noses are completely different.....
If there ever was a matrix...
A teller at my bank and the receptionist at an office I clean both have the same first and last name and both work on the same street, probably a 5 minute walk from each other. I can't even begin to imagine the probability of it all because their last name isn't that common.
