Cecil’s Magic ‘makes the impossible possible’ at the Park County Fair

Cecil Lewis is ready to wow the audience and leave them with the burning question of ‘how?’ when he performs his magic show at the Park County Fair this year.

Lewis’ shows are a mix of “magic, music and comedy with lots of audience participation,” and there will be live animals involved with some tricks. On Friday and Saturday night, Lewis will be performing the illusion “walking through steel.”

“Magic to me means escaping from reality and making the impossible possible,” Lewis said. “I think it’s truly amazing when you can entertain a crowd and leave them laughing and wondering how you did it.”

Lewis has been doing magic for 30 years. When he was 7 years old, he found an ad in a comic book that read “Learn to be a magician, send $1” and he did just that. He then received a packet of six tricks with a note saying that when the buyer masters these tricks, send in another $1– this is what inspired his now 25-year-long magic career.

Lewis currently resides in Post Falls, Idaho, and performs for fairs, festivals, corporate events and the occasional birthday party. “My favorite thing about performing is to be connected to the audience,” he said.

This will be Lewis’ first time performing at the Park County Fair and ever visiting Wyoming, and he is excited to perform for Park County alongside the other performers he will be sharing the stage with.

“I just want to invite everybody to the Park County Fair, there’s going to be lots of things to see and do. I’m really excited to be considered a part of the Park County Fair,” Lewis said.

You can catch the tricks and illusions of Cecil’s Magic performance Tuesday at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m., Wednesday at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., Thursday at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., Friday at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., and Saturday at 2 p.m and 6 p.m.
