(kăth′ər-ĭn, kăth′rĭn; ăr′ə-gŏn′) 1485-1536. The first wife of Henry VIII of England. Henry's insistence on a divorce from her (1533) caused his break with Roman Catholicism and the beginning of the English Reformation.
