Early Life[]
Caroline Tracy is the daughter of Donald Tracy, a powerful mining CEO, and Alex Tracy (nee Richardson), a socialite and former model. Due to her parents work when she was a child, she was raised in various locations throughout Charos, never staying in one place for more than a few months. As such, she grew up quite insular and lonely, unable to make lasting friendships and connections throughout her young life, and neglected by her parents due to their busy schedules and general disinterest in raising a child. She gained a reputation at various schools she was enrolled at as a sullen, sarcastic loner, clearly intelligent but with no interest in applying herself to her schoolwork and often getting expelled for troublemaking. After the third expulsion when she was eleven, her parents decided to hire a tutor to homeschool her, a tactic that had begun to show promising signs, she became more open and less guarded, more engaged in learning, and even took up playing guitar, until a year later, shortly after her brother was born, when Donald ran away to start a new family with her tutor after a years long affair. In the years after, Caroline became a primary caregiver for her baby brother, teaching him to speak, walk, and read, and with the toys available to her from her family’s vast fortune, ignited the first spark in his interest in robotics (a passion that would culminate years later in him obtaining a prestigious scholarship in a top Sethian university). However, her inability to trust any personal tutors plus her intense distaste for her mother’s endless string of boyfriends lead to her being sent far away to a Lupaian boarding school at age 15.
Adulthood[]
Still with great difficulty making lasting friendships and connections, and finding the entire concept of regulated education pointless, Caroline dropped out of school at 17, living alone in a flat paid for by her considerable trust fund set up by her parents. She would take the odd job often out of boredom and curiosity, but most of her time was spent drinking, partying, and taking drugs in the seedier corners of Port Newton, often performing at clubs and open mic nights with her band Fountains of Kane. Caroline generally preferred the company of the poor, down and outs, drug users, and aimless slacker types rather than the high society and businesspeople she was brought up around, priding herself on her ability to drink even the most grizzled alcoholics under the table.

Throughout her twenties, she embarked on a string of affairs and one night stands, but was never able to commit to anything resembling a serious relationship and would usually disappear as soon as her suitors would start to get too close. However, she did over the years remain very close with her little brother, keeping in constant phone contact and often inviting him to stay with her as he reached his teens.
