- SteveBalzan, Malta22 contributionsVery nice, clean and well kept coastal area. White sand and clear sea which stretches for miles. Also a very good (and flat) jogging and cycling route if you enjoy that. Not that many restaurants for such a large area and the ones I went in struggled with English...but nothing Google Translate couldn't fix.Written May 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Eccezionale visita guidata, apre un mondo sconosciuto sulla Sardegna dei nostri antenati e la civiltà Nuragica.
Una mostra veramente ben fatta, con una presentazione unica.

Assolutamente da non perdere.

Here, if anywhere, marble has been used and the views from this top have been great over the city. Around the monument in the old town there is a lot to see, shops, housing, local life and cafes. The destination should be included in your Cagliari's trip.Written May 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Elizabeth S3 contributionsSardinia has a tremendously rich and loooong history. This museum provided great context and additional detail to all of the sties we had previously visited on our travels (such as Su Nuraxi di Barumini and the Nora Archeological Site). It truly helped us untangle and make sense of the competing timelines. The museum is very well laid out, with loads of interesting pieces, as well as great dual language interpretive panels (IT & EN).Written April 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul millerSheffield, UK9 contributionsPriceless photo opportunity although you need to respect the face this was the visit of the day not too busy but beautiful architecture both inside and outWritten April 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - laczkozsuDebrecen, Hungary1,690 contributionsIt is one of the oldest and the most important sanctuary of the island. It became one of the landmark of Cagliari. Its origin came back to 14th century. The famous statue of the Virgin Mary (can be seen inside) has an interesting legend. The sanctuary is located on a hill on the eastern part. The building itself is impressive, nice architecture, but the interior is less beautiful.Written February 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Katie6 contributionsLovely park, perfect for a sit down and picnic. It has a play area so is good for children too as well as a lot of animals to look at. Furthermore, it is free entry so definitely worth a visit if you want to spend a few hours away from the city.Written September 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KrisD_plWarsaw, Poland7,784 contributionsI visited the place twice - in December and February. Flamingos come to spend the winter in Sardinia and park of Molentargius lake is one of the most easily accessed places where you can spot those birds. At the information point you can arrange excursions with a guide or take a walk or even better - hire a bike (for a fee - check my photos) and ride along the salines. A lot of fun for birdwatchers but not only.
TIP: if you'd like to spot some more flamingos, the other good place is saline lake south-west of Cagliari adjacent to road SS195 (car required)Written January 12, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A nice promenade to the nearby sleeping lady mountain range. There is no official path to reach the peak, as the military base blocks the entire northern side. But following locals late afternoon, there are few wild path to lead you to the Sela del Diavolo, one of the ruins on this hill range. Searching for a path to reach to the peak, which seem to be the “official” hiking route, turned out to be non-existent. Ventured along the miliary base where I found a wild narrow path thru the forest to reach the top stone plateau. Fabulous view, 360 degrees … with some left over Roman Ruins and the famous nuraghe buildings, main type of ancient megalithic accommodation / towers dating back to the Nuragic Age between 1900 to 730 BC. Don’t miss to crowl thru some spikey cactuses to reach the chalk-cave, called Sella del Diavolo. There are approximately 7,000 nuraghes left in Sardinia today. Turning time back 4,000 years ago amongst such a scenery is truly a unique experience. The official path, flatter and easier-to-walk path, is leading to the Calamosca Beach. It was a Sunday, so the Disco tunes and party was on early afternoon till late night. Long queues, traffic jam and many happy party-lovers. Walking back to the Poetto beach took like 4 – 5 km … definitely a detour, but no other choice, unless driving by motorcycle or car.Written April 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - laczkozsuDebrecen, Hungary1,690 contributionsCagliari was built on seven hills and they are the seven districts of the city. Quartiere Castello is the most famous and important part of the four historical districts. It’s from the Roman Amphitheater to the Bastione Saint Remy. The two main streets are via La Marmora and via dei Genovesi. This district has narrow streets, old historic buildings. I think it’s a must-see site. Don’t miss the fantastic view from the high terraces!Written February 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - laczkozsuDebrecen, Hungary1,690 contributionsThey are the twin towers with the Tower of San Pancrazio. It was the other entrance of the medieval town. Its construction was completed in 1307 to protect the town. It’s made of white limestone, too. There’s small carved elephante on its south side on 10 metres high. Look up because it's not easy to spot! This building was a prison in the past, in 19th century. Now it’s the very impressive entrance to the Castello district. I think it’s woth a visit and some pics.Written February 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- laczkozsuDebrecen, Hungary1,690 contributionsWe stayed in the Old Town, so we often passed by it. This tower was built in 1305 on the highest point of the hill. It’s made of limestone. It was an important defensive place, but later it became a prison. It’s in a very good condition. The view is fantastic, it’s a must-see site.Written February 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
