Buddha's Little Finger plot
Unemployed writer Pyotr accidentally ends up in the Russian underworld as a result of complications during the Russian August coup in 1991. He is arrested and interrogated by the KGB, but loses both consciousness and memory and awakens during the Russian Revolution in 1919. He joins Vasily Chapayev, the hero of the Red Army. There he also meets the charming revolutionary campaigner Anna, but isn't Anna the one he loves in 1991? Pyotr's mind swings precariously between two time levels.
