Broken Lance Brings Imperial Knights to Warhammer+ Alongside Kroot and the Nastiest Prison in the Imperium
It’s a packed week for fans of Warhammer 40,000 on Warhammer+. The Knight Households are on the warpath in Broken Lance, a long-anticipated Warhammer animation that arrives with a Questoris-sized bang.
That’s not the only action – the Battle Report team have smeared on their warpaint, sharpened their boning knives, and broken out the mosquito repellant for the sweltering jungles of Hadrak’s Folly. Nick and Simon are giving the Kroot Hunting Pack a workout with the new rules from Codex: T’au Empire, in a clash they’ve called Death in the Undergrowth.
Broken Lance
The big, stompy news this week is the arrival of Broken Lance, the first new animation to hit Warhammer+ in 2024.
This single-episode show sees the Imperial Knights of House Corvec under attack from overwhelming Chaos forces, and they must fight not only for victory but also their house’s survival.
You’ll see Imperial and Chaos Knights fighting it out, as well as all the nastiest beasts that Nurgle can muster. It’s a must-see for all Warhammer 40,000 fans (but especially those who like giant walkers, which is basically all of us).
Battle Report
Kroot are natural hunters, relying on generations of experience and subtle genetic manipulation provided by their Shapers. Their presence on Hadrak’s Folly is a prelude to an invasion by the T’au Empire as part of the Fifth Sphere Expansion.
These carnivorous warriors are preying on the Imperial inhabitants and planning guerilla raids on military and civilian encampments. Hang on… a jungle world? Infiltrated by alien hunters? Sounds like a job for the Catachan Jungle Fighters.
The two forces clash using the new Mobile Warfare battleplan from White Dwarf 497. The constantly fluctuating lines of battle are a perfect fit for these two mobile forces, provided they can Maintain Focus and keep their eyes on the Shifting Priorities.
Loremasters
Loremasters is also getting in on the far future action this week, with an episode dedicated to the Dark Cells, the mysterious prison on Terra which holds the worst miscreants in the galaxy. It’s guarded by the Shadowkeepers Shield Host of the Adeptus Custodes, who still sometimes struggle to contain their charges.
