One of the best high school in Loudoun County area. My experiences there was great, made a great group of friends and great memories. There's plenty of clubs and sports to participate in. Faculty and teachers were great and always involved.
My experience at Broad Run High School has been filled with fun memories and amazing people, It has so much diversity and great teachers. One of my favorite memories at my school was the day I met my amazing friend group, as well as other kind and supportive classmates. Finding people who you can relate to and feel comfortable with, can make your high school experience a lot more fun and memorable. One of my least favorite experiences at this school is probably the food, apart from having unhealthy choices, the food that is served at my school is not appetizing at all and not filling, it also lacks several nutrients like fruit and vegetables and has limited choices. Moving forward, I would like the food choices to slowly progress and for security to be more involved and attentive with students to avoid the use of drugs or other harmful activities.
My school is very welcoming and inclusive. Although my school has some issues with drugs and vaping in the bathrooms, is overall a nice school. I think I would like to see change in better enforcement on keeping drugs out of the restrooms.
The best parts about Broad Run High school materialized on random days. I'm not fond of this school, but sometimes the faculty can be really helpful and entertaining, which makes going to school, something I don't like going to (not because I am lazy). Sometimes there are events that make the atmosphere great, like music and bake sales. The worst parts are the teachers. Though some can be great people, the way they teach is not at all helpful; especially the math teachers. Also, I don't buy lunch, but the lunch I see people eating is gross. If our state spends a lot of its budget on education, get better food.
Over the 4 years of my education at broad run high school and being a spartan have been a life changing experience. I have come from a low-income family and came to the U.S. for specifically, a better education. This school hasn't only taught me over the years what it truly means to have a strong community filled with love and respect, it has also showed me the love I have for my future career in business and management. Broad run focuses on making sure all of the students are safe and included, we are a very diverse school with people from all over the world. Broad run has really shown me that high school is not compared to the real world or college it has taught me that it's okay to be scared sometime but life keeps moving on and we have to make sure we live it to the fullest. High school flew right before my eyes, life will too.
Broad run is a great school a lot of fun and like a family. There are a few things that many need to be changed, but over all wonderful school, kids, teachers, and administrators. Broad run wouldn’t be anything if it weren’t for everyone who works there.
Overall Broad Run has been a very good school to attend. There are significant resources and teachers that are willing to help and support your education and success. The school culture with sports, clubs, and more is very diverse and the students help make that. The only criticisms I have are the lack of food quality and several facilities that are a bit aged. However, it is a well rounded school that helps students succeed.
I loved my time at Broad Run. The teachers and faculty are amazing and so supportive. The clubs and extracurriculars are incredible. The academics prepared me so well for college. The counselors are extremely helpful. It was overall a great environment and experience.
My sophomore year of high school was my first year at Broad Run High School. I was so behind in school because I only took 4 classes online my first year, that was when COVID 19 was happening. Ever since I started going to school there they have helped me from the beginning to catch up, so that I could graduate on time, and with my class. Some of the teachers, administrators, and my counselor were really nice and helpful, which made me feel more comfortable. I ended up having a really good bond with them and opened up about myself. There were some teachers I didn’t get along well with and always argued with them. That’s probably one thing I would like to see changed but I don’t think that’s possible only because there is always gonna be some who don't like a teacher, even if they are nice.
Broad Run High School has so much to help you be a well rounded student. There are so many teams, clubs and student organizations that everyone can find their interests represented. The school is very inclusive and positive learning environment.
I really enjoyed the Broad Run academics as well as the spirit and sports. The one thing I did not enjoy was the scenery and how old the school is which makes it a little rustic.
My three years so far at broad run have been very enjoyable for me. Everyone is very inclusive towards others. The teachers and staff seem to want everyone to succeed and be the best they can be. The best parts of my experience have been making friends and having fun in class and throughout the school. My worst parts are probably the competitiveness withing the students at the school.
Throughout my childhood I attended many school, but by high school I had the opportunity to stay in the same place all four years; I could not be happier that that place was BRHS. Everyone was extremely welcoming and there are many resources available to students and parents to make sure that high school is a successful time.
The best parts were the teachers and their willingness to help. The counselors are also thoughtful in their help. However, the layout of the school is definitely dated.
I’ve been going to Broad Run for 3 years now and I absolutely love the vibe. There is so much diversity and a lot of kind people. I’ve been educated not just from teachers but students as well. People here know a lot about teamwork. Our school cares a lot about student mental health which I know helps a lot of students. Most of the teachers are very inspiring and the staff is beyond amazing. The staff is very caring and the counselors know how to help you due to your needs.
The among the strongest aspect of Broad Run is the student culture. There are many pockets of different groups and its easy for people to find people that are like them. The atmosphere is not overly competitive, and the academics are top tier. The teachers are great although there are a select few that some people have trouble with. In my own experience, they genuinely care about your success (at least, in regards to the class itself) or are pretty funny.
Additionally, the school has 50+ years of history that gives it a strong identity. The student body is arguably the most diverse of the Loudoun county high schools.
My only complaints about the school are small. The building is old despite the renovations. I hear some complaints from the theater kids that the stage tech is not amazing as a result. Secondly, the support from the counselor staff regarding scholarship and internship opportunities is weak compared to say, the Academies of Loudoun. That may be an unfair comparison tho
