National champion MiLaysia Fulwiley to be honored at high school alma mater

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– University of South Carolina Women’s Basketball’s MiLaysia Fulwiley is returning to her alma mater to be honored after her teams’ national championship win.

W.J. Keenan High School is holding a “MiLaysia Fulwiley Day” celebration for the USC Freshman who is a 2023 graduate of W.J. Keenan.

The celebration was held in the gymnasium of her former school with performances by the W.J. Keenan’s nationally recognized Marching Keenan Raider Rubber Band and the cheerleading team.

During her time at Keenan, Fulwiley was named a Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-American; McDonald’s All-American; Naismith (third team) All-American; an
All-USA Today team member; a three-time South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association 3A Player of the Year; and a South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association 2A Player of the Year.

She finished her high school basketball career as the school’s all-time leading scorer, with over 3,000 career points.
