Here’s how to watch all six of the Bring It On movies in order. The teen cheerleading comedy series began in 2000 with the release of the very first Bring It On movie, which was helmed by Ant-Man's Peyton Reed. The film follows high school cheer captain Torrance Shipman (Kirsten Dunst) as she scrambles to come up with an original routine for her team the Toros to perform at a national competition after discovering her predecessor plagiarized choreography from rival squad the East Compton Clovers, led by Gabrielle Union’s Isis.
Although Bring It On was initially dismissed as just another teen comedy, it’s become a cult classic in the years since thanks to its exploration of race, class and cultural appropriation through the lens of the wealthy, suburban and predominantly white Toros and the low-income, inner-city and predominantly Black East Compton Clovers. The movie also spawned a stage musical (aptly titled Bring It On: The Musical) whose score was co-written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a total of five direct-to-video sequels to date.
The six films in the Bring It On series aren’t connected to each other beyond their basic theme and each features different characters, cast members and settings. Like a lot of film franchises, the Bring It On series vary in quality. The original remains the best, but the West Side Story-inspired Bring It On: In It To Win It is a fun entry, as is All Or Nothing which stars Hayden Panettiere and Solange Knowles and boasts an extended cameo from Rihanna. Judging by its paltry audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, Bring It On: Worldwide Cheersmack might be an entry to skip even for those dedicated to watching all the Bring It On series in order.
The cheerleading comedy series is about to get bigger in the not-too-distant future, as a horror-themed TV movie titled Bring It On: Cheer Or Die starring Impulse actress Missi Pyle is set to premiere on the SYFY Channel in fall 2022. In even more exciting news, Gabrielle Union recently hinted a direct sequel to the first and best Bring It On movie featuring the return of several original cast members could be in the works too.
