If we've said it once, we've said it one hundred times, Brady Tkachuk is a unicorn. The 2023-24 NHL season proved that once again with the Senators captain sitting atop a milestone that had never been achieved before. In finishing the season with 37 goals to go along with his 294 hits, Tkachuk had scored the most goals ever by a player who had player who had registered at least 290 hits in a single NHL season.

For the third straight season Tkachuk set a new career high in goals with 37 , besting his mark of 35 set last season, and 30 the season before that. In taking his offensive game to new heights this season, he netted two hattricks this season brining his career total to three, after he achieved his first hattrick in the 2021-22 NHL season against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

As for the physical side of this feat, Tkachuk's 294 hits ranks 31st all-time since the NHL started recording hits in the 2005-06 NHL season. Those 294 hits, highlighted by an NHL record setting 16-hit night against the New Jersey Devils, rank third on the Senators all-time single season leaders behind himself in 2019-20 (303) and Mark Borowiecki in 2016-17 (364).

Had a little more gone his way this season, Tkachuk could have become the first player in NHL history to record a 40-goal, 300-hit season, something to keep an eye on next season.
