Brief power outage leaves parts of Boston dark, over 900 customers without power
Police said Thursday night that Eversource, the local energy provider, is responding to the blackout.
The Boston Police Department reported a significant power outage Thursday night in the Back Bay area that left nearly 1,000 customers without power around 10:30 p.m.“Eversource is aware of the situation and they are responding,” police said Thursday night in a tweet.

Around 11:40, Eversource informed local residents that power had been restored.
“If you’re still out of power, text OUT to 23129 or report online,” the company tweeted.

A company spokesperson told NECN the issue was at Eversource’s substation in the Back Bay, adding that power crews are still on the scene looking into the exact cause.
As of midnight Thursday, only eight customers are still without power.
No further information has been released on the outage, which at one point left 978 Boston customers in the dark according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency’s statewide power outage map.
