Overall, its a no nonsense HD version of the movie Balto (1995) in its original cinematic aspect ratio with remastered visuals and sound. IF all you care about is owning the best possible version of Balto, then this bare bones Blu-Ray is perfectly adequate; dare I say phenomenal. Though, it stands to question why Universal did not at least include fliers for the two sequels or a digital version inside; if you wanted to watch it on a device other than your TV, like me. - NOPE. Its literally just the case and disk, that's it. Yet, other animated films inferior to this one include it and more in their blu-ray releases; Still, better than no HD I guess.

Ce dessin animé des Studios Amblin mérite clairement d'être découvert par les plus jeunes, ou redécouvert (je parle là pour ceux qui, comme moi, sont nés au début des années 80 et qui seraient nostalgiques des films ayant marqués leur enfance).
Ceci étant dit, je voudrais juste préciser ce que l'annonce Amazon a oublié de mentionné à propos du DVD. Celui-ci comporte bien une VOSTFR pour ceux qui se poseraient la question, ainsi que des bonus : la bande-annonce de Balto, la bande-annonce de E.T. pour sa ressortie salle en 2002 (les 20 ans du film), ainsi qu'un documentaire de 26 minutes, sorte de making-of de ce dessin animé, très intéressant car il nous montre à voir le véritable Balto et son histoire, jusqu'à sa mort en 1933 dans un zoo. Par ailleurs, le DVD se lit bien, le son et l'image sont de bonne qualité. Bref, faut pas hésiter à l'acheter et à le montrer à vos enfants.

When the DVD players replaced the old VHS machines I could no longer watch my VHS tapes anymore and they were put in a bag at the bottom of my old wardrobe. I was disappointed when I realised I couldn't watch my Balto tape anymore. It had been a very long time since I last watched the Balto film so I was pleased to find it available on the amazon site so I purchased it straight away. When I watched it for the first time in ages I laughed again at Muk and Luk, the polar bear cubs and Boris the goose. Even though I am in my twenties Balto will ALWAYS be one of my FAVOURITE films.
