Blythe Danner: mother, actors are people too.

Myrna Loy: I doubt it.

That line always cracks me up. As a Gen X kid, I grew up watching a lot of my mom’s favorite movies. Among them were the Thin Man series of movies, starring William Powell & Myrna Loy as Nick & Nora Charles.

Having Myrna Loy in a Columbo episode is one of my favorite highlights.

This quote showed up in my Facebook memories from 4 years ago. The world was scary, I was social distancing from everyone, and living by myself made for a challenging time. But Columbo was my go to comfort television.

I loved seeing her in that episode and totally agree on The Thin Man film series. 👍🏻

I had such a crush on Blythe danger. Very pretty and her voice was sexy as hell.

It's Myrna with Cary Grant that I love. Especially The Bachelor and the Bobby-soxer.

My kids are Gen Z. They were raised on The Thin Man, Myrna Loy and William Powell. Cause that’s the kind of dad I am

I remember a talk I had with somebody once, and I said something that, in one of my previous lives, I would only have said with a BAC of 0.2: "Of course celebrities are people. But not people like you and I."

I actually believe in that, especially when it comes to celebrity entertainers. Just like homo sapiens and pan troglodytes are different species of primates, celebrities and ordinary people are two different species of human beings. I know there are plenty of celebrities who will say: No, nay, never. But they are lying to themselves if they think they are still the same person they used to be when they weren't famous.
