It’s one of our favorite destinations in the United States for hiking, amazing weather and stunning scenery.
During our epic six-week road trip across the U.S., we found ourselves in Arizona, where we happily booked a two-week getaway in Sedona.
We split our time between the Hilton Vacation Club Ridge on Sedona in the Village of Oak Creek and the Hilton Vacation Club Sedona Summit. In this review, we’ve got all the essential details covered to help you choose the perfect Hilton Grand Vacations club for your stay.

Comparing the Sedona Hilton Grand Vacations Club: Ridge and Summit
Firstly, it’s important to note that despite being Sedona timeshare hotels, you can still reserve rooms at The Ridge and Summit on booking platforms like hotels.com, booking.com, or directly through the Hilton hotel website.
Another wonderful perk of staying at The Ridge or Summit is that they are excellent Sedona hotels for families. Each room has a kitchenette, and there are amenities for kids at both hotels such as playgrounds, huge checkers boards, and multiple pools.
When considering your ideal vacation spot at one of the Sedona Hilton Grand Vacations Clubs, you’ll find that both the Ridge and the Summit offer unique and appealing features. The Summit stands out for its stunning panoramic views of Sedona’s red rocks, providing a serene backdrop.
This makes it an ideal choice for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts looking for a peaceful retreat amidst breathtaking natural beauty.
On the other hand, The Ridge impresses with its golf course views, modern amenities, and great location to cafes and restaurants.
Whether you prefer easy access to hiking trails and golfing at the Ridge or a luxurious pool area to soak up the Arizona sunshine at the Summit, both options cater to different preferences.
The Ridge on Sedona
Spacious Rooms at The Ridge on Sedona
This was our first time staying at The Ridge on Sedona and really enjoyed our stay. We chose a guest room, Studio 1 Queen with a Sofa bed.
The guest rooms are 490 sq ft. (45.5 sq.m) so quite big for a hotel room. The kitchen is equipped with a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, 2 burner stop top, refrigerator, and even a small dishwasher.
The sofa bed pulls out to a queen bed so it’s great if you have kids. There’s also a 42 inch HDTV and DVD player.
The bathroom is also big with lots of counter space, storage and a walk in shower with high quality shampoo and body wash.
Our room was located on the first floor so we didn’t have a balcony but a walkout patio. It can get a little dark in the rooms that are located on the ground floor so just keep that in mind.
On-site Amenities at the Ridge on Sedona
At The Ridge, guests can take a refreshing dip in two heated outdoor pools offering a relaxing way to soak up the Arizona sunshine. Meanwhile, wellness enthusiasts will have access to a well-equipped fitness center, allowing guests to stick to their workout routine while traveling.
An accessible fitness center while traveling full time is sometimes hard to find so we really appreciate it when we have a gym close by. It not only helps with our physical strength but also our mental health.
There’s also nice walking trails throughout the property, EV charging stations, laundry facilities, free parking and business center.
Location & Surroundings Ridge on Sedona
Nestled among canyons The Ridge offers lovely views of the Sedona Golf Resort. Located in the Village of Oak Creek the hotel is about a 15 minute drive from Sedona and the popular Tlaquepaque Arts shopping area.
Other nearby hiking trails are Bell Rock Trailhead which we hiked during our trip, Cathedral Rock and Chapel of the Holy Cross.
The Collective in the Village of Oak Creek is conveniently located within walking distance of the Ridge on Sedona, which we really appreciate, especially after living in Europe where we often embraced walking everywhere.
The proximity to diverse dining options is a definite plus – we enjoyed a delightful fine dining experience at The Village Chophouse and indulged in wood-fired pizza at Rotten Johnny’s Wood-Fired Pizza Pie.
Being able to stroll to dinner or grab breakfast without having to hop in the car is such a wonderful convenience, not to mention the added bonus of getting in some steps!

Hilton Grand Vacations Club – Sedona Summit
Accommodations at Sedona Summit
Each guest room and suite at the Summit is designed with modern furnishings and stylish décor. The room we booked was a studio with 1 Queen bed and a sofa bed, which was pretty much the same as our previous experience at The Ridge.
The room was slightly smaller at 470 sq.ft., but it still offered the same amenities, including an efficiency kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, 2 burner stove, and cooking utensils.
Additionally, the sofa bed provided extra sleeping space, and there was a TV and DVD player in the room. The bathroom was identical to the one at The Ridge, featuring a large walk-in shower, ample counter space, and storage.
Since we were on the second floor at the Summit we had a nice balcony that let a lot of light into the room.
On-Site Amenities at Sedona Summit
With state-of-the-art equipment, The Summit’s fitness center has everything you need to maintain your workout routine while traveling, they even have a brand new Peloton machine!
You can have your pick of four different pools and hottubs. Our favorite hot tub was right by our room with spectacular views of the famous red rocks of Sedona.
Other amenities include free parking, EV stations, laundry facilities, and business center.
Location and Surrounding Sedona Summit
Sedona Summit offers a prime location, just a 10-minute drive from the city center, perched on a plateau with stunning vistas of the iconic red rocks making it one of the best hotels in Sedona with a view.
You’ll find a couple of trailheads just a short 10-minute walk from the resort, providing breathtaking sunset views. For those seeking more adventure, the renowned Cathedral Rock Trail and Devils Bridge are only a 20-minute drive from the hotel.
While the property doesn’t offer walkable dining options, a quick 5-10 minute drive down the road leads to an abundance of restaurants and cafes to explore
Cost of Hilton Grand Vacations Sedona
Sedona has high and low seasons so what you pay will be dependent on what time of year you visit. The studio guest rooms that we stayed in can range from $105 per night in low season at the Ridge on Sedona to $260 per night at Sedona Summit during high season.
High season in Sedona is typically March to May and September to October. Our first stay in Sedona was in August which as you can guess is pretty hot and is also the monsoon season.
Low Season is December through February when temperatures can get quite cold and you could even experience some snow!

Both the Sedona Hilton Grand Vacations Club: Ridge and Summit offer unique experiences tailored to different preferences. The Ridge provides spacious guest rooms with access to golf courses, hiking, and walking distance to restaurants and cafes.
On the other hand, the Summit boasts breathtaking views, multiple pools and close proximity to hiking, shopping and restaurants.
No matter which option you choose, you’ll be treated to scenic vistas and memorable experiences that showcase the natural beauty of Sedona.

The best time to visit Sedona would be in the Spring or Fall. Temperatures will be in the 70’s to low 80’s with minimal amounts of rain.
Prices are typically lower during July and August since that is the hottest time of year in Sedona but you will find the best prices in January and February.
