Blake Lively's hair is perhaps her most famous physical attribute. We've pretty much been obsessing over her long blond waves since the first Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie, through the Gossip Girl years, and through her transformation into a major movie star.
But even A-list status can't stop nature from doing its thing during a time when going to see your colorist isn't an option. Yes, even famous people are trying to figure out their beauty routines in quarantine. And it would appear Lively has found a temporary colorist right in her house: Ryan Reynolds.
She revealed she was going to trust her husband with her dye job on Instagram Stories, addressing her regular colorist, Rona O'Connor: "@Ronacolor you are an actual earth angel. Thank you for surprising me with a handmade color kit," she wrote, along with a photo of the package. "The fact that you trust @vancityreynolds to get this right makes me concerned for your sanity. But who needs hair anyway!?" Now, that might just be the ultimate level of trust.
From the photo, it looks like Reynolds will have all the tools he needs: hair color, a mixing bowl, clips to pull Lively's hair back in sections, a blending blush, and even a finishing gloss. We just hope he's not holding a grudge from all the trolling his wife has done in the past, including a recent shot of the back of his hair in a tiny ponytail, which she captioned, "I dare you to forget this every time you see him for the rest of eternity."
"I've had so many requests on a daily basis," O'Connor tells Glamour. "Even friends of my clients and family were asking if I could help them. All I need to see is their roots and I can make recommendations very easily."
"With the mini kits for my clients and friends, I created a streamlined solution to refresh roots and tone," she says. "I kept everything as simple as possible. There are certain things I would not include. like bleach—that should be left to the professionals because there's too great a chance for disaster. Each refresher includes personalized products to give each client their desired base color and tone, the needed tools for their application, and specific instructions just for them. And I Face Time them to walk through the process. I never dreamed of all the husbands helping, and I do to their wives returning to the salon. It's been a fun experience and everyone is super happy."
Of course, Reynolds also gives as good as he gets when it comes to lovingly mocking his wife—but we're guessing he took his new role of colorist seriously. Here's hoping she shares a photo of the finished results soon. We're guessing her hair will be just as envy-inducing as it was before quarantine.
