Our two-night stay experience is perfect for those wanting to spend a little longer in our beautiful pocket of the Yorkshire countryside. Stay for two nights in one of our Black Swan bedrooms and enjoy a tasting menu at The Black Swan on your first night, with a table reserved at our sister pub The Abbey Inn on the second.

The Family
Owned and run by The Banks Family, who have lived and farmed around Oldstead for many generations; The Black Swan is very much their creation. There’s an “Oldstead” style; plenty of tradition and culture, cut through with a modern earthy, exuberance.
Tommy, James and their parents Anne and Tom Banks were joined in 2018 by their friend and business partner Matthew Lockwood to establish a new restaurant, Roots York on Marygate in York. Then in May 2023 Tommy and the team opened The Abbey Inn, a relaxed country pub with rooms just a stone’s throw away from Oldstead.

Experience a tasting menu that is inspired by the ingredients that we grow and forage ourselves in and around Oldstead. The tasting menu is priced at £175 per person for dinner and £135 per person for Saturday lunch.
Stay at The Black Swan Oldstead
We offer 1 night stays Tuesday - Saturday which include the tasting menu, overnight stay and breakfast in one of our nine beautiful rooms.
We also offer 2 night packages on a Monday & Tuesday or Saturday & Sunday. Guests would enjoy the tasting menu on one night and can experience our sister restaurant, The Abbey Inn, on the other.
We also offer Sunday or Monday stays when The Black Swan is closed, with guests able to dine at The Abbey Inn.
