Bishop Gorman High School Reviews
Rating 4.07 out of 5 411 reviews
Bishop Gorman has given my kids an unbelievable experience that will last a lifetime. The coaches, the faculty, and the support system have been second to none and have given my boys an opportunity to strive and help prepare them for the future. From activities to academics, everything has been a positive experience and if given the chance, would do it all over again. Thank you, Bishop Gorman!
Academics are not a priority at Bishop Gorman. A student is more likely to get a great education in AP classes at a public school than they are here. Star athletes and students with wealthy parents are given special treatment. Half of the teachers are coaches for sports teams first, teachers second. Bullying and harassment between students overlooked. Time wasted virtue signaling with religion classes, mandatory mass, and drug testing rather than prioritizing students receiving the resources they need to succeed in college and life. It was known amongst the students that the priest on campus would flirt with the younger looking boys. If your only priority is football, basketball, or baseball this is the right school for you.
Bishop Gorman is a very sport-oriented school, which is promising for athletes who are considering attending Bishop Gorman. However, its academics are excelling too. There are three “levels” of classes with differing academic rigor for English, science, and math: CP (college prep/regular), Honors, and Scholars (the highest level). I really appreciate this because it allows students to be on the track they’re supposed to be on and just gives students more choices. However, I do wish that BG would have more AP classes available, especially for freshman. I’m a freshman myself, and yet the only AP class that I can take is AP Human Geography. Overall, though, Bishop Gorman is a great school. The environment is good, the academics are proficient, the uniforms have diversity and are casual, there are many different clubs, the campus is large, and even the cafeteria is fantastic. I definitely recommend checking it out and seeing if it’s the right place for you.
