Billie Eilish opened up about having suffered from COVID-19 and emphasized that vaccines do work based on her own experience.

The 19-year-old singer revealed that she could have died from the virus last August if she were not vaccinated against the deadly virus in an exclusive interview on “The Howard Stern Show” last Monday, Dec. 13

“I want it to be clear that it is because of the vaccine that I’m fine,” she recalled. “I think if I weren’t vaccinated I would have, like, died [of COVID-19] because it was bad.”

The Grammy-award winning artist then said she was sick of the virus for two months and that she still suffers from its side effects today. She also described the experience as “terrible” even though she did not die from it.

“When I say it was bad, I more just mean that it felt horrible but really in the scheme of COVID, it was not bad,” Eilish said. “When you’re sick it feels fucking horrible. When you have a cold — I have a cold right now — when you have the flu, it feels like you’re dying when you’re okay.”

The pop star also clarified that her COVID diagnosis did not mean its vaccines did not work. She added that the vaccine is “fucking amazing” and that it also saved her brother, parents and friends from getting sick.

Other than the COVID-19 pandemic, Eilish also spoke to Howard Stern about how watching pornography from a young age destroyed her brain and how her recent MET Gala experience shaped her view on her fellow celebrities.

Billie Eilish rose to fame with her 2014 SoundCloud hit “Ocean Eyes.” Since then, she has won over seven Grammy awards including Record of the Year, which she won back-to-back for her songs “Bad Guy” and “Everything I Wanted.” Sam Mayoralgo/JB
