Blake Shelton debuted a brand new song called “Bible Verses,” from his forthcoming album, Body Language.

On Friday, April 23, the country superstar shared the new track and admitted in an interview with Apple Music, that it’s “one of the best songs [that] I’ve ever recorded as this incredible lyric and something that’s going to hit you in the gut and in the heart when you hear this song, It’s unbelievable.” Shelton later added, “I’m constantly looking for a new sound and different subjects to sing about. I think for the most part, the album is very lighthearted and just fun to listen to, There is not a lot of deep thinking songs, expect for at the very end, there’s a song called ‘Bible Verses.’”

“I don’t care where you are when it comes to faith,” the country hitmaker and Voice coach added. “There’s two different ends of the spectrum you can be on but there will be something about this song that you can completely relate to and that’s what I love about it and that’s why it’s such a rare find in not just country music but any genre to have a song this special.”

In the same interview, Shelton shared why he is so proud of the forthcoming new album.

“Sometimes I record songs because they hit me and I go wow that’s my life or I’ll write a song about my life but for the most part I just like songs that I just don’t get tired of it and sometimes I can’t relate to them at all.,” Shelton explained. “I mean, let’s face it, I never went to jail and had a dog help break me out of prison, you know. My mother is still alive and well, even though I recorded a song called ‘The Baby.’ I look for great country songs and at the end of the day that’s at the end of the day that’s all I care about. I want to sing as best I can and record the best songs I can possibly find and that’s why I’m so proud of this album.”

Body Language, Shelton’s first album in three and a half years is set for release on May 21. The album features 12 tracks, including the No. 1 duet “Happy Anywhere” and current radio hit “Minimum Wage.” Fans can pre-order the highly-anticipated new album now HERE.

“We’ve been working on this album on and off for two years now, and I’m very proud of what we have put together,” Shelton said. “We certainly had some unique challenges with the pandemic, but we also had a lot of fun. We explored new sounds while making sure to get in some classic country. I’m also thrilled to have my buddies The Swon Brothers featured on the title track as both co-writers and vocalists. Can’t wait for y’all to hear it!”
