Title 9 incidents are super frequent here. If you live on the hill or in CV ( Campbell Village ) and you are a lady, PLEASE bring self-protection items, I personally never leave my dorm without mace in my pocket. The school on the outside is beautiful, as a photographer I love taking photos of this campus - and the hiking trails are great. HOWEVER - the inside classrooms are falling apart - no srsly! The lights are falling though the ceilings. Additionally the teachers here don't really seem to care about being here, I think during my time here I only had one teacher that was passionate with what they were doing and teaching - everyone else seems to hate being there. Which brings me to the students... be careful. There are those on the campus who are super nice and I enjoyed spending time with - the rest are in cliques. The drama kids, the sports teams, the esports guys. I don't think I honestly say I recommend this school, I'm going to finish out to get my degree but my advice - dont
As I’m finishing up my freshman year at Bethany I have definitely realized the lack of opportunities and social scene here. If you do not have a car on campus it’s really hard to get essentials and boring. Greek life is one of the only ways to make good connections here. For it being an art school there aren’t many art course options or diversity in the selection. The professors are nice people but definitely aren’t top tier educators. My experience living in the dorms has been very on and off, the soap would be out for weeks, showers are dirty, the cleaners took away our trash cans and the laundry room has flooded. The dining hall doesn’t have a good variety and the food is very mid. Safety is okay, I have not felt unsafe here as a woman but there has been title 9s. Overall if I could choose again I would not have chose Bethany.
This place is literally hell on earth. If you don't join greek life or sports you're an outcast, the title 9 department is a joke, and the campus is nowhere near safe. The dorms are only nice if you prefer the smell of weed and living with mold. It's not at all a safe environment, nor is it a fun one. I transferred out after 2 years because of the experience I had with awful sorority girls being bullies, and frat guys violating every rule and sexually assaulting a new girl every weekend. It's very cliquey, you're only respected if you're in greek life, and the education does not make up for it. The professors are nice people but couldn't be better than half assing their job. During my time in athletics I recieved no recognition for my accomplishments because my sport "wasn't popular." I quit the team shortly after setting records that went unnoticed. Save yourself the time, humiliation, and $50k a year... this place is awful.
