So it actually has a shot at $200m now? I think it could get hit hard next weekend, even though Fall Guy probably won’t break out, so we’ll see. But still an impressive hold.

I don't know why everyone is rushing to write this one off. Even if it doesn't blow the doors off opening weekend (and I think it opens higher than people around here are expecting), it's going to have very good word of mouth. Don't be surprised if this opens above projections and then legs out a really solid run

Right which is why I said probably. How could I know what legs it’s going to have until we hear about reception? But we do have presale numbers, so I’m going off of that. But OW wise it’s probably not going to destroy the legs of any movie out right now.

200m definitely be lurkin

190 is not that good domestically but the movie will make a profit since it did so well overseas. The days of movies making 300 million with ease are long gone.

190 is definitely great lmao, we ain't in the "every marvel movie got that so any movie that doesn't is a failure" era anymore

190 m possible?

u/RudeConfusion5386 avatar

Probably guaranteed. Likely to hit $195m and miss $200m, but if it somehow continues to drop around 30%, it could hit it.

It's $17m behind Venom after five weekends. It's the closest weekend the two films have had since their respective openings but its still not bridging the gap which it needs to do to have a real chance of passing $200m.

I agree that it will likely land in the $195-200m range. Frustratingly short.

u/RudeConfusion5386 avatar

Yeah, the only reason I say it’s possible is the weak May slate. If it was a normal start to summer, it would be lucky to hit $195m lol

Apes and Furiosa could both do pretty well

$200M is alive!

u/FarthingWoodAdder avatar

Holy shit. $200m is still in play.

$200m is possible. Let’s see if it can leg it out.

My current out of my butt guess: $195 to 205 million domestic  $540 to 550 million ww

u/TheLuxxy avatar

The WW number will be higher.

It’s at $520M WW and so $195M domestic would put it at $533M. Japan hasn’t released yet and that’ll add probably at least $15M. That would be $548M without any international gross added from the rest of the world.

Seems more likely it’ll seriously contend to pass Kong: Skull Island

Both this and Kung Fu Panda are pretty neck and neck with each other. I think the Dragon Warrior will come out on top based on the way it's been holding compared to Godzilla x Kong.
