She deliberately tried to look a bit like Beryl in order to confuse silverstar,

but lets leave this thread about Beryl and Ill start a new thread about Dora !

Beryl .... thankfully .... did a ton of movies and was on TV chat shows quite a bit back in the day
I'm glad I'm not the only one to get Dora Bryan and Beryl Reid mixed up, in a sort of Ant and Dec or Lidl and Aldi way ;-)

Wraysbury.... that name rings a bell... Christine Keeler grew up there in a strange house made
                from 2 railway carriages !

as Micheal Caine would say.... not many people know that !

Except that he claimed he never said that.

It was Peter Sellers that coined the phrase.
He used to take the mick out of Michael's voice and the fact that Michael was always spouting useless facts at parties.
Sellers also did the voice on his ansaphone message.

My first memory of Beryl was as Marlene, the girl from the flower shop in The Peter Brough and Archie Andrews Show back in the 50's on radio.

She had a Brummie accent in that.

                      As Michael Parkinson would say.
I think I read somewhere that Beryl was rather unpleasant in real life. Rather rude and spiteful, especially with fans.
