Scope And Contents

Primarily, this page displays images of Peggy Lee's twofer and threefer CDs (i.e., discs which contain two or three of her original albums). Compact disc is not the only configuration on which twofers and threefers have been issued, however. They can also be found on LP, 8-track tape, and reel. All those configurations have been covered over the seven sections below. CD listings are particularly numerous, and have thus been divided by country of origin and/or label of release (sections III to VII). A general index, listing all twofers and threefers, can be found at the bottom of the page.

5 - 10. Title: The Folks Who Live On The Hill - Broadway Ala Lee / Format: LP & 8-Track & CS / Label: CAPITOL / Cat. Num.: Stbb 517 & 8xf 517 & 4xf 517 / Volumes: 2 / Rel. Year: 1970 / Tracks: 20 / Note: In LP format (images #5 to #7), this item consists of two albums which are precariously held together by an adhesive sticker. Image #7 shows the vinyl, sleeves, and back covers of the albums, with the sticker also in place. The albums were actually manufactured and sold not only together but also separately -- without the sticker. (Approximately 3" by 1", the black sticker is placed around the albums' spines. Its text reads: "Special Value! Double Play. Contains two complete albums." The sticker's last sentence is not strictly true: these are abridged reissues of the original Capitol albums The Man I Love and Latin Ala Lee!.) In 8-track format, the two albums were also sold both separately (images #8 and #10) and together in one package (image #10). The single editions of The Folks Who Live On The Hill bear the same prefixes seen above, but the catalogue number is 518 (not 517) in all instances. Similarly, the single editions of Broadway Ala Lee use these prefixes but bear catalogue number 519.

Year: 1970 / Volumes: 3 / Tracks: 30 / Notes: Actually a threefer (rather than a twofer), this set (item #11) is an abbreviated reissue of the original albums Big $pender (item #12), A Natural Woman (item #13), and I'm A Woman (item #14). Ten tracks were chosen from each of these three albums. Picture #15 shows the set's front cover again, along with its three vinyl discs. The back cover (not shown here) lists the set's tracks and other basic information, but has no photos or illustrations. Lest I confuse readers, I should also add that the front covers of the original albums (#12, #13, #14) are not reproduced anywhere in the set.
