Leaving Six Two (Year 13) Music Scholars Caitlin, Lucy, Amelia and Lucy recently gave their final Lunchtime concert before departing for their study leave.Featuring dazzling and assured solo performances and closing with a mesmeric ensemble piece, the varied programme was a perfect showcase of the students’ virtuosity and the craft they have honed during their time at Benenden.
The soloists demonstrated their skills with the violin, clarinet, oboe and piano, performing works by Charles Auguste de Bériot, Hamilton Harty, William Kroll, Rachel Matthews, William Alwyn and Franz Schubert.
The Scholars’ contributions to Music at the School are keenly felt and will be deeply missed, but not before a final appearance at Speech Day at the end of the Summer Term.
