My condolences, may you rest in heaven, I admired your talent on television very much, thank you for the memories.

You had an exciting life with lots of ups and as life usually has it some downs. But all in all I would say it was a success story.
I got to meet Ben at community outreach which he shared his personal experiences with us. He was a local guy who made the most of what he could and never forgot where he came from.

I grew up watching Good times every Saturday morning and still today I’m watching all the reruns. My prayers are always with the Powers family. RIP Ben

I have just learned of the passing of your father and loved one. I have a photo of your father with myself and my sister from roughly 1974. My mother ran Trinity Repertoire Theatre and worked with your father and Adrian Hall. I would be happy to share the picture - it is one of this theatre rats favorite memories.
I am truly sorry for your loss. Ben was an absolute favorite of mine and has always remained in my heart.

He changed my life ...When I first saw Ben on TV /Good Times,I knew that entertainment was my calling.I was 12 years of age back in 1978.His acting pulled me thru from just loosing my grandmother.Iam a grandparents baby.When I lost my Big momma,I just knew I would die from a broken heart.The Midnight Special featuring Wolf Man Jack along with Good times pulled my back together.I wanted to taste the City.I moved in with my mom up from a small town down in east,Texas to Dallas,Texas. Wrong thing to do.By 19800I was back home after getting into trouble up in the big city.1982 I tried it again,still here in Dallas, Texas.I send my condolences to Ben's family...I am 54 years of ageBen I know you hear me up there in Heaven...I would like to say "Thank you!"This Dennis

What a wonderful actor he was Good Times brought him in at an awesome time for the show. May God Bless his family. Thank you all for sharing him with us. He was a great example of a black man on T. V. at that time even tho I was just a baby. But in the early 80's I enjoyed him them. I pray our dear Lord and Savior has given his family peace. AMEN!!!

I was thinking about him for so long. Always catching reruns of "Good Times" and remembering my little crush. Handsome and talented, I thought maybe he was working behind the scenes. Did not know until I watched the year in review on December 31, 2015 on BET that, Mr. Powers, had passed on. God Bless his soul and prayers out to the family.
