Bellagio is primarily a town of restaurants and upscale shops. If you want something otherwise to do then a visit to the Villa Melzi Gardens is a great activity. You cannot go in the Villa as it is private. The gardens are terrific. It will take about one hour to casually stroll through the garden. It follows the shoreline of LC with spectacular views.

What a great experience at this little wine shop in the heart of Bellagio. The owner, picture with my wife below, was super friendly and took his time answering our questions and helping us sample several wines. It has a fairly large wine sampling device that was super fun. Highly recommend if you’re staying in Bellagio.

I went on a guided tour around the park of the Villa Serbelloni with the excellent guide Paola who works with the Comune of Bellagio to provide these tours. Currently this is the only way to visit the park but is very well worth while. You walk up a series of sloping paths to finally reach the highest point on the Bellagio promontory where Lake Como splits into two arms going south to Como and south east to Lecco. And for the two hour duration of the visit Paola talked in three languages - English/French/Italian - about the history, geography, culture and current use of the Park. The tour lasts 2 hours and all the proceeds support childrens causes in Bellagio. Wear walking footwear and visit the loo before the beginning of the tour. Currently there are just two visits a day at 11am and 3,30pm and you have to book in the office by the park gates (or possibly on line). Well worth the visit

This landmark located in lovely Bellagio can be seen as you arrive by boat.

It is of Romanesque style with a stone facade and has an attached bell tower.

The church was built in the 12th century.

Its well worth visiting this pretty church.

This Museum is located a short, lovely walk south of the main part of Bellagio. It's not easy to find but it is very worthwhile and it's open every day from 10:00am to 1;00pm. This museum has an amazing collection of over 600 different navigational instruments, as well as drawings, charts, working models of how the planets rotate around the sun, old sextants and octants, chronometers, astrolabes, cardboard telescopes, old compasses and sundials. We were very fortunate to have Giulia Cittadini as our very knowledgeable guide to help us understand how these instruments functioned. You need to spend about an hour or two to fully appreciate the scope of this collection.

After having a nice pizza in one of the restaurants in Bellagio decided to walk along this waterfront very nice and scenic.

Great views looking back of Bellagio once you get to about half way.

It’s a very short distance from town centre and good thing to do while waiting for boat back to Como.

We found our way into the Valentinarte Gallery in Bellagio due to the window display and ended up falling in love with a Carlo Bianchi painting (and his story). The owner, Barbara, was very friendly and professional. She took plenty of time to talk with us about the painting, the artist, and Bellagio / Lake Como in general.
When we returned home, Barbara was in constant contact with us via email and sent us pictures of the painting. When we decided to purchase, Barbara made the entire process (including shipment / delivery) simple and seamless. If you are looking for a unique piece of art, Barbara and Valentinarte Gallery in Bellagio is a must visit.

Visit her shop if you’re looking for quality pictures for reasonable price! Her work is beautiful, captures the prettiest bits of Lago di Como so you can bring your favorite memory home :) Highly recommended!

This tiny church on the town square is usually closed. It is overshadowed by the 2 other churches on the square. It has some frescoes that are worth the effort.
