The professors are great and the small class size really helped me. I especially liked the arts department. Unfortunately the quality of students severally declined over my four years. I had students literally point and laugh at me, constantly heard students talk behind my back, a group of students would constantly stare and laugh at me from across the entire cafeteria. Basically worse than middle-school tier behavior acted out by many students across campus. Not to mention the rise of crime in my final year such as a whole gang of students stealing from the self-checkout store...
Additionally, the inclusion of football seemed to take attention away from every other aspect of the college... Why does a 1000 student college even need a 2 million dollar football stadium?
The food from the cafeteria was terrible. Terrible. The other eating area is also severed by the same food provider, so the only outside food source is processed frozen food from the self-checkout store...

This is a boring school with academics that are mediocre at best. Nothing happens on campus or in the surrounding areas either. Weekends are completely dead without a soul in sight on campus. Whenever they do have events on campus, which are rare, they are almost always poorly planned or put together. There are also very limited options for campus engagement as there are a single digit number of active clubs. The food from the cafeteria is awful, it doesn't taste horrible, but I've gotten sick from the cafeteria multiple times. Classes are hit or miss; some professors are great and truly care about you learning the material and others are just downright intolerable. In my time here, there was an issue with the gradebook, and I couldn't see my actual grade on one of my classes until the very end of the semester. I plan to transfer. I'd only recommend Barton if you are from Wilson or have been offered a full ride.
Barton College is exactly what it claims to be and more. It is a small college with an immense atmosphere. While athletics is a huge reason for many students to attend, many will tell you that the community is the reason that they don't want to leave. Barton makes it easy to forge relationships that will not only last a lifetime but benefit you for a lifetime. Professors and staff go above and beyond to nurture and curate an exceptional college experience. I personally still contact my old math professors regularly. The Wilson community love Barton too, which only adds to the excitement on game day or when you are around town. If you want a college to feel just like home - go to Barton College.
