      Critics Consensus

Bad Moms boasts a terrific cast and a welcome twist on domestic comedy -- and they're often enough to compensate for the movie's unfortunate inability to take full advantage of its assets.

Gigsy V Anyone watching a film like this thinking they're going to get something profound is a doughnut. It's obviously not that kind of film. I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Mila is obviously not that hard on the eyes. She carries the film and I do think it wouldn’t work as well if you put someone else as the lead because it has a wafer-thin and silly plot. But, the concept re: her breaking bad a is a fun one. Fun film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Jennifer L All the moms I know LOVE this movie. Many dads hate it. In my opinion, it's side splittingly funny. Comic relief for moms who do it all and find that it's never enough. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/02/24 Full Review Rami A Even if Milla Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn work well together, it doesn't improve the movie in the slightest. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/06/23 Full Review Dylan C BRILLIANT SPECTACULAR I LOVE THIS Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/01/23 Full Review Albert J There is some real Star power in this movie but the talent is wasted because literally every joke is something that you've seen before. Stale plot and no originality. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/04/23 Full Review Carl J Finding Humor in Parenthood I recently watched the movie Bad Moms (2016) and I have to say, it was a mixed bag for me. While there were definitely some enjoyable moments and funny scenes, overall I felt like the movie fell short of my expectations. I would give it a rating of 6 out of 10. One of the things that I did appreciate about Bad Moms was the comedic performances by the cast. Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn all brought their A-game and delivered some genuinely funny moments. Their chemistry on screen was palpable and they had great comedic timing. The movie definitely had its fair share of laugh-out-loud moments, and I found myself chuckling quite a few times. Another positive aspect of the movie was its relatability. As a parent myself, I could definitely empathize with some of the struggles and pressures that the moms in the movie were facing. The film did a good job of highlighting the challenges of balancing work, family, and personal life, and it touched on some important issues that many parents can relate to. However, despite these positives, there were a few aspects of Bad Moms that didn't quite hit the mark for me. Firstly, I felt like the plot was quite predictable and lacked depth. It followed a typical formula of a group of moms rebelling against societal expectations, and while this premise had potential, it didn't explore it in a meaningful way. The story felt a bit rushed and some of the character development felt forced. Additionally, I found some of the jokes to be a bit crude and over-the-top. While I appreciate edgy humor, there were moments where it felt like the movie was trying too hard to shock and provoke laughter. It would have been nice to see more clever and subtle humor that didn't rely so heavily on shock value. Lastly, the pacing of the movie was a bit uneven. There were moments where the movie dragged and scenes that felt unnecessary, which made the overall viewing experience feel a bit disjointed. I think with some tighter editing, the movie could have flowed better and maintained a more consistent momentum. Overall, Bad Moms had its moments of laughter and relatability, but it fell short in terms of plot depth, humor, and pacing. While it's not a terrible movie by any means, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. I would recommend it if you're looking for a light-hearted comedy to pass the time, but don't expect anything groundbreaking. Jess Kibler Bitch Media I wasn't expecting some sort of deep, philosophical dive into motherhood from this film. I was simply expecting to laugh maybe once.
