It is really beautiful and it's impressive that this is the oldest church in Portugal. The stained glass inside is gorgeous, the paintings are also very pretty, definitely a must visit when in Braga. It is one of the symbols of the city and religion in Portugal.Written April 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alice H3 contributionsThe beautiful Mountain View was from Hoko Sushi bar in Braga. We learnt from google that there is a sanctuary. What a beautiful surprise when we got there. The Sanctuary Of Our Lady Of Sameiro is beautiful. The views surrounding this sanctuary are gorgeous. Not to mention the sunset. We were lucky to have clear blue skies. The drive up is beautiful. The energetic ones can hike to the top. You can cycle to the place too. So if you are visiting the North enter this in your diary. Portugal is special. Surprises are never too far away and some need not be planned for.Written February 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tina Z790 contributionsWow! This garden is so beautiful! It looks greatly taken care of, the flowers were in full bloom when I visited in March. It is a like some colorful oasis with historical elements and a pretty fountain, just incredible. It's also not big, so it is great for a quick walk.Written April 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Raysa GPalmetto Bay, FL45 contributionsThis monastery was amazing! We were able to go into the church, the gardens, 3 stories of history that was all restored! Totally worth the 4 euros. We were there for 3 hrs. People were super nice!Written July 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tina Z790 contributionsI'm speechless. Even if you are not religious, I think you have to visit this place because it is marvelous, beautiful. The church, the steps, the fountains, the surroundings, the park, the cave, the pathways, the little waterfalls, the gazebos, the lake... The plants in good conditions, flowers in bloom... Congratulations to people taking care of the place! I could go on and on talking about the beauty of this place, but it could not compare to reality. One thing I do recommend is getting there early in the morning because then there are not many people wandering around and you can appreciate even more the peace of that place. I hope when I return to Portugal to have another chance to visit this place.Written April 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - letsdrinkwineCambridge, UK144 contributionsIt is a rather large and central square, which gets quite crowded and there's not much to do there but some medieval buildings on it have quite interesting history and architecture making it worth visiting.Written June 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Oliver E1 contributionWe had an excellent tour given by Miguel, who was superb. His knowledge of the club, stadium as well as Portuguese culture were only added to by his engaging, welcoming personality.
If Miguel sees this - thank you from the 6 English guys that visited on the morning of Saturday 16th, before the 2-1 win in the evening!Written March 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As well as the main house, there are stables, large formal gardens and lovely statuary. The house itself is really well preserved with a wealth of original features and has lots of furniture on display although it is not set up as it would have been when it was occupied by nobility. The furniture is chiefly gifts from wealthy benefactors. It follows a set route finishing with a visit to the kitchen and stables before providing the opportunity to wander around the formal gardens.
Remarkable value at just €2 to enter. At present part of the gardens are sectioned off as refurbishment work is ongoing but there is still plenty to see.Written January 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hugh DLondon, UK64 contributionsNice looking portico with lots of cafes and shops nearby, would be perfect without the main road/roadworks being around it.Written July 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hugh DLondon, UK64 contributionsLovely exterior is supplemented by an interesting exhibition inside with lots of detail on the palace which was great value for money (it cost me 1 euro as I am a student).Written July 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
