When Arthur Tudor Prince of Wales was born on 19 September 1486, in Winchester, Hampshire, England, his father, Henry VII King of England, was 29 and his mother, Elizabeth of York Queen of England, was 20. He married Katherine de Trastámara de Aragón Reina consorte de Inglaterra on 14 November 1501, in St Paul's Cathedral, London, England. He died on 2 April 1502, in Ludlow Castle, Shropshire, England, at the age of 15, and was buried in Worcester, Worcestershire, England, United Kingdom.

Name Meaning
Welsh: from the personal name Tudur, a derivative of British Celtic Toutorīx, literally ‘people’ + ‘king’. It has sometimes been taken as a Welsh equivalent of Latin Theodorus, from Greek Theodōros ‘gift of God’ (see Theodore ), for which the usual Welsh form is Tewdwr.
Romanian and Croatian: from the personal name Tudor, a variant of Teodor (see Theodore ).
History: The Tudor royal family, English sovereigns from the accession of Henry VII in 1485 to the death of Elizabeth I in 1603, were of Welsh origin, being descended from Owain ap Maredudd ap Tudur, who held lands at Penmynydd in Anglesey.
