- When you listen to Primus you wanna hear that slapply bass tone from Brother Les. Not what seems to be the low fi mono mix of flat. The songs are great. The pressing and mix are sub par at best.
- Edited 2 years agoI'll play devil's advocate and say that I'm actually quite happy with this pressing. Whatever muddiness I do hear I can attribute to the mix being pretty heavily centered... which might just have more to do with the nu-metal era that it was shoe-horned into. Admittedly I never owned it on CD and can't compare to that, but having only ever heard terrible ripped downloads and streamed versions, this is a vast improvement with punchy, deep low end and crisp highs. [ Played with microline stylus, ATPL120, Schiit Magni Heresy and Schiit Mani, V-Moda Crossfade wired ]. The discs themselves are way thick and heavy as well. A welcome addition to my 90s Primus collection. --- studio version of The Heckler (previously live on Suck on This) after Coattails of a Dead Man is a kickass bonus track.
- Much better than paying for an original for such an awesome album but whoever decided this sound was passable should be in question cause it sounds muddy and flat. Everywhere there should be a peak in dynamics there isn’t. At least the $25 was worth it for the cool wall art and sticker
- I'm not going to say that this is horrible, but it's definitely lacking in dynamics. Sounds like the life has been taken out of it... which is quite an achievement for such an energetic album. I just don't get why they had to add insult to injury by throwing "audiophile pressing" on the hype sticker.
- Yeah this is a horrible pressing. It sounds like they turned on Dolby NR on to a tape that was not encoded with it. All the high end is rolled off. It is also distorted and lifeless. Such a disservice to this recording. What happened to quality control.
- Does anyone else's copy of this sound like hot garbage? I was pretty impressed with the quality of the other releases, but this one just seems like a poor master, super damp and weak. Lacks any kind of clarity overall. I'll have to go back and listen to the CD to compare the mix.
- Who's gonna ride bodacious? Look out for Bodacious!! OH YEA!! killer sounding pressing and the artwork is nice and glossy you like Antipop? Scoop yourself up one you'll dig it! :) \m/
- I certainly wouldn’t classify this as an “audiophile” pressing. Not very dynamic. Not awful, but lacking in certain respects.
