Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

See the full tracklist here.It appears that ‘Tortured Poets’ was inspired by the five stages of grief. Recently, Swift tackled denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance over five Apple Music playlists – each representing one of these stages. In a description of the final playlist in the series (which includes the tracks ‘The 1’, ‘Happiness’ and ‘Closure’), the singer-songwriter explained: “Here we finally find acceptance and can start moving forward from loss or heartbreak.“These songs represent making room for more good in your life, making that choice because a lot of time when we lose things, we gain things too.”Many fans had previously speculated that ‘Tortured Poets’ could delve into Swift’s six-year relationship with actor Joe Alwyn (Conversations With Friends), as well as the pair’s 2023 break-up.The album’s title could be a reference to the WhatsApp group Alwyn shared with fellow actors Andrew Scott (Fleabag) and Paul Mescal (Normal People) – the latter of whom was previously engaged to Swift’s friend and collaborator Phoebe Bridgers.FUN FACT: Joe Alwyn and Paul Mescal have a WhatsApp group called "The Tortured Man Club”#TaylorSwift.
