When Princess Anna von Hessen was born on 26 October 1529, in Kassel, Hesse, Germany, her father, Landgraf Philipp "Der Großmütige" von Hessen I, was 24 and her mother, Christine von Sachsen, was 23. She married Pfalzgraf Wolfgang Von Pfalz Bayern Wittelsbach on 8 March 1545, in Kassel, Gelnhausen, Hesse-Nassau, Prussia, Germany. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 10 daughters. She died on 20 July 1591, in Koblenz, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, at the age of 61, and was buried in Zweibrücken, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
