The World at War is a British 26-episode documentary television series chronicling the events of the Second World War. It was at the time of its completion in 1973, at a cost of £900,000 (equivalent to £11,100,000 in 2020), the most expensive factual series ever made.[1] It was produced by Jeremy Isaacs,[2] narrated by Laurence Olivier and included music composed by Carl Davis. The book, The World at War, published the same year, was written by Mark Arnold-Forster to accompany the TV series.
The World at War attracted widespread acclaim and is now regarded as a landmark in British television history.[3] Among many other aspects, the series focused on a portrayal of the experience of the conflict: of how life and death throughout the war years affected soldiers, sailors and airmen, civilians, concentration camp inmates and other victims of the war.

Subject: Yikes! All Those Dead Bodies - Everywhere!
I blame this whole thing on the Jews running that art school in Vienna. They got an application from an artsy craftsy Bavarian goy - a one in a million goy who just wanted to be a Manet or something. Why didn't they just let the kid in? It's an art school, dammit - not a neurosurgery fellowship.
That one pissed off goy got back at those thoughtless Jews - in spades. And just nutty enough (artists usually are nutty) and power hungry enough to set this whole thing off. That's all it took. One nutsy art school applicant.
What I find disturbing is the almost complete lack of reaction to this carnage among many of these reviewers. They act like those are just Hollywood sets. Well, for starters, the next one will not be confined to the other side of the ocean - no way.

I also thank you for the upload of The Great War (BBC 1964). The only other place to find this is YouTube, but your version is pristine.
All children should watch these series as I fear we are currently in episode 1...The Causes Of World War 3.
You have done everybody a great service.

"...so. If somebody says they are a "Nazi" and a "Christian" or a "Fascist" and a "Christian" then there is something wrong."
I disagree, according to your god one must first sin in order to receive forgiveness
Plenty evil has been done in the name of God

The RAF bombed by night, the USAAF bombed during
the day. I am glad they interviewed these people while
most of the veterans of WWII were still alive.
Interviewing the veterans is an enormously big part of
why this 1973 documentary is so important and
contributes to the historical record.
Most of the veterans and civilians from back then
have now passed away from old age.
I have got to address something off-topic for the reader to
understand. Now the reviewer I'm thinking of can say
whatever they want, they are allowed their freedom-of-expression.
So am I. But they used the term, "Christo-fascist." Whatever that means.
Taking my que from the verse, "you cannot obey God and mammon,"
You cannot mix following Jesus Christ with that evil ideology.
Where Jesus says, do not hate your enemies, pray for those who
persecute you, the fascist doctrine is unjust and puts innocent people's
lives in jeopardy. I mean, that's what the Nazis did and they were
fascist, right? I mean there were whole people groups they tried to
exterminate, like Jews and Romani people and others.
Jesus died on a cross because He was taking our punishment as breakers
of His law, to save our souls from Hell. And then He rose again back to life
3 days later. If we believe in Him then He is faithful to save us and give us
a relationship with Him. He called that being "born again."
I have not said this the best but the 3rd chapter in the Gospel of John says
it best.
Anyway, obviously I am a Christian, and I don't take credit for it because it
took the power of Jesus Christ, God Almighty to wipe my sins away.
There are people we "modern" Christians admire, such as
Corrie Ten Boom. She was a good Christian lady who hid many people in
danger during World War 2 with her family, from the bad guy Germans.
(There were and are good guy Germans). That lady is better than most of
us Western Christians I would say but she is an example of a Bible following
Christian.
I do take issue with the disparaging language that one "reviewer" used against
another "reviewer." That is wrong. It should not be allowed in this forum.
On last thing, anybody can call themselves a "Christian" but it does not make it
so. If somebody says they are a "Nazi" and a "Christian" or a "Fascist" and
a "Christian" then there is something wrong.

With that being said, great series. Thanks for uploading it Berserk Monster.
Subject: Should Be Called "The Deafening Silence"
I have watched this series several times since it first came out and as a description as to how the axis powers were created and defeated it is still second to none.
However, the deliberate obsession since then with force feeding a sadly impressionable general public with Marxist PR; the lie that Nazism was antithetical to Socialism, and the lunatic assertion that the very people who inherited the totalitarian and despotic spirit of Communism AND Fascism are the "progressives" that will lead us all to a better existence (whether we like it or not - of course), is wearying to say the least.
The jig is up, the cat is out of the bag.
The endless brightly coloured flags and insignia line our streets and adorn our companies, the public holidays celebrate not saints but sinners and every foot soldier of every branch of the establishment or private company is a paid up member of the "party" - and woe to them who criticise or attempt to abstain!
Documentaries like this are now relevant again but, unfortunately to remind those of us with any shred of discernment that we are back in the 1920's and 30's in Germany.

Patton was right of course, they fought the wrong enemy, and the post WW2 suffering of Russia and Eastern Europe vindicated him. But, the propaganda war CONTINUES, even now, in 2022. Hitler was the #1 bad guy, and Stalin and the Bolsheviks, and Mao still get a pass.
