PSA: for people asking what game it is, I took this from a Facebook posting in an annual passholders group. The poster said her son works at Disney and they do weekly trivia but this one seems to have everyone stumped
Perhaps someone from Home on the range movie? I haven't seen this movie in ages, but art style looks similar.
That’s just what I was thinking
Could it be from the park and not any movie? Like maybe on the wall of the speakeasy?
You should use more of their old posts and make a game here! This has been a very entertaining post.
There is a Reddit page called something along the lines of whereinwaltdisneyworld where people post photos of places around the park and other users guess which is a similar game aspect but I agree this has been a very entertaining post
It’s driving me crazy! Please post the answer if someone finds it 🤯. Good one though! 😊
If it's for an annual papers pass holders group, is it a park character? He looks really familiar to me
This is like seeing the Mandela Effect in action…like I FEEL like I know this character, like I’ve seen him somewhere, but any guess that I have is the same as the people here who’ve already guessed, and they’re all wrong! This is like The Twilight Zone.
I totally agree! I’m assuming he looks so familiar because it seems like a lot of Disney animators reuse faces so he just may have a commonly used face animation that just barely differs between each character. Either way it’s crazy how nobody has been able to find this specific guy
He looks like an early draft of Big Daddy LaBeouf from Princess and the Frog.
This was who I thought it was at first!!
Or a human version of Monterrey Jack from Chip and Dale.
He looks a bit like Alameda Slim, disguised as Yancy O'Del here.
I’ve looked through the thumbnails on this Disney character list up to the letter ‘P’ if anybody wants to continue
This is wholesome. I love when strangers band together on the internet. Why do they do it? Because of Good.
I came back after work to check on this to see if the power of Reddit worked. I’m shocked we’re stumped
I finished P, Q, R but gotta get to work
Took a peek at Q thru Z, no luck 🤷🏻♀️
I went all the way to Z. Nothing
Went through the rest and didn’t see him
Does it have to be from a full length animation? Could it be from a short? Or a park exclusive character?
Is he a character from one of the Direct-to-Video sequels? He doesn’t look like anyone I remember from the main movies.
You can actually ask the Disney archives. Archive (link)
Piggy backing on this to say this might be a good place to start too:
https://theanimationcommendation.com/disney-canon-forgottenminor-characters-index/
I went through that link you posted and no trace of him anywhere in there. Went through all 40 or however many there were and looked. couldn't find anything.
Ha same here. Although I think the monocle and hat/suit match the same period garb from Lady and the Tramp. I don't feel like speed watching it to confirm tho.
This is what I was going to say. Pretty sure he is.
With the look of the picture (Photo of some framed print or part of an attraction/ prop) and the hint “it’s a Disney character and it was found in the Disney archives.” I'd say that the pysical picture is in an actual disney archive... Dunno if it helps but it's worth a try to start searching pictures of their exhibits, if there are any....
I’m confused. This is a trivia game that doesn’t provide answers?
Comment removed by moderator
Someone will eventually provide an answer but it’s a self-run trivia by people within the Disney company. The original post was on a Facebook group and she said her son was a cast member at Disney world and they were doing weekly trivia amongst themselves this one just seemed to stump everyone
Please update us when you get an answer? Not very often the Reddit community doesn't figure something out.

There’s a clue that states “it’s a Disney character and it was found in the Disney archives.” The wrong guesses so far include:
Big Daddy (princess and the frog)
Alemeda Slim (home on the range)
Young King Rupert (sleeping beauty)
Walrus (Alice in wonderland)
great mouse detective
dreamfinder
Ok, if it's not Big Daddy then i have no idea
What game? It may be easier to look up the characters/answers to the game than just organically searching for this mystery guy.
You can cross out Pinocchio, Cinderella, Oliver and Company hippie Longstocking in the rescuers one and two. I already checked them all thought he might be a background character. whatever movies in it’s old definitely nothing new
Hippie Longstocking is the remake we’ve been waiting for.
Or Pippie Woodstocking
Hippy Longstocking and the Wanderlust Gypsies
You can cross off Swan, Princess Dumbo sword in the stone, black cauldron Alice in Wonderland sleeping beauty Peter Pan Cinderella leaning in the tramp I even did a visual search, couldn’t find him these are just movies. I thought he could be in or even a background character but the last know he’s not in any of these.
Tip for future reference: If you use asterisks (one per line; the spaces are required), they turn into typographical bullets.

Good luck finding the answer! ^_^
I’ve been on Reddit for 7 or 8 years now and never knew this. You gave some good info and then even more- thank you!!
You're welcome. ^_^ Maybe it's because I've used various versions of BBCode and other markup systems (Wikipedia's Wikitext for one, though I can't actually think of any others) that I went looking for it. (I'm accustomed to "hand coding" to get the results I want, though I am in no way a computer scientist/programmer.) Here are the other Reddit Markdown guides:
another, more detailed one (but no longer maintained)

Yeah, saved.

The character model is virtually identical to King Hubert (not Rupert) from Sleeping Beauty, but with red instead of white hair and with an outfit from a different time period. That makes me think this drawing is either an obscure character for whom they reused the King Hubert model or this drawing is an intentional outfit/hair color swap to make the game harder.
Alameda Slim was wrong?? Damn then I got nothing lol
And though he’s got the same moustache style he’s not The Grand Duke from Cinderella
Edit: Also that’s a terrible clue, lol!
What about aristocats? The colors seem a similar vibe to the movie
Maybe Dr. Watson (NOT Dawson) from The Great Mouse Detective? He has a cameo but only his shadow is seen. It's possible the animators drew artwork for him to inform the shadow, and that the artwork is stored in the archives.
This actually makes a lot of sense. Clothing is from the same time period and hes drawn to look a lot like Dawson.
I wouldn't personally look at him and think of Watson as I know him to generally be portrayed. The Diamond Tie, the monocle and the flashy flower evoke "rich guy" which isn't what Watson would seem to usually evoke (particularly since Holmes looks so stereotypical with that deerstalker hat, long capelet coat and pipe.
That said, perhaps there are examples of Watson being portrayed dressed similarly to this?
I think this is right. Here's the shadow appearance of Watson, you can see his bowler hat, and I think make out the mutton chops, though not the goatee.
I've also done a reverse image search complete with "Disney" keywords and could get anything but the Ringmaster from Dumbo. This character definitely has never appeared in any images whatsoever.
I was also thinking Great Mouse Detective!
This actually might be onto something. I’ll see if the Facebook poster is able to check and see something along those lines. Very smart thought process!!
It's not Watson. I took a look at The Great Mouse Detective and he's very different.
Here are two images, one that I believe is meant to be Watson from the beginning of the movie and another showing his shadow that seems to match up.

My first thought was also great mouse detective but I didn't see any humans when I looked up images. Haven't seen the movie in 15+ years
Yes I got this vibe too. The animation is also similar to the GMD style.
Another piece of evidence to your point is that we can see part of Watson’s outfit in the movie as he walks after Holmes after the exchange - he is wearing the correct shade of green
maybe ask r/disney if you havent
I tried using Google Lens but nothing showed up. A character from aristocats?
Yeah it seems so familiar and I keep thinking the movie had cats in it for some reason, but I couldnt find this character in the Aristocats when I looked.
Aristocrats was my guess but I can’t find him…
It's not Vladimir from Anastasia which isn't even Disney, but that's who came to mind for me.
So are we generally agreeing that this was a mistake on the part of the game? or maybe it was a character from something that was never released? either way we can agree the character was voiced by John Goodman, hahaha.
speaking of which he does resemble the dad from princess in the frog, but it's not him.
he looks like an amalgamation of all disney princess’ dads lol
That's what I immediately thought but idk
Is the game based only on Disney trivia? And what kind of trivia game doesn't give the answer to their questions or you don't want to read the answer yet?
Not sure, I am in a Facebook group with Disney annual passholders and this was another passholder who was posting about it but everybody seems completely stumped
Is it actually from a sanctioned Disney product or did someone just post a pic of a cartoon character thinking it looks like Disney but doesn’t know where it’s actually from?
