Legendary collaboration, the recipe for perfection for true gourmet-quality flavor, meticulously-prepared content raps for the true connoisseur. I don't even need to say much, the music speaks for itself; but you can really feel the effort and soul poured into this project, like a fine spaghetto prepared somewhere in the foothills of Italy by a sundried 90 year old woman, the kind so artisanal it takes a lifetime to perfect the art, you can feel the artists' passion for their craft.

Alfredo is a gift from heaven. A work that plunges you into a dark and foggy universe, while remaining irresistibly endearing and comfortable.

What more can we say about the monstrous Gibbs, one of the most brilliant lyricists and rappers of the last 10 years. Inexhaustible, he has this ability to get the best out of himself when you put him in confidence, with producers he loves and understands, as complementary as Siamese twins. The Alchemist is also one of the most remarkable hip hop ... read more

That frickin spaghetti on the cover looks delicious ngl.
Well, The Alchemist is one of my favorite producers in modern hip hop and I've been a fan of Freddie's music since I heard the incredible Piñata. So a collab album between the two of them? Sign me tf up!!

This album is certainly a vibe, The two amazing talents complimented each other very well with their own unique styles, The chemistry between them is loud and clear and they delivered some bangers in the process. The jazzy ... read more

A couple great tracks, and a few songs that felt like Freddie riffing over a mediocre instrumental. overall, not a game-changer, but a good listen

This might be the best hip-hop project so far this year. Freddie Gibbs delivers great verses over excellent Alchemist production, and the features on here are pretty great too. I don’t know if it’s better than his projects with Madlib, but it’s definitely on that same level.

Fav Tracks: 1985, God Is Perfect, Scottie Beam, Look At Me, Frank Lucas, Something To Rap About, Baby $hit, Babies & Fools

Least Fav Tracks: All Glass

Pray my demons never catch up from my old ways.

The only real problem with "Alfredo" is that anyone who already knows Gangsta Gibbs well won't learn anything new. The project is guilty of being nothing more than what it is, an excellent album of pure gangsta rap made on autopilot. Maybe that's also the major limit of the talented rapper...

But maybe the prowess of the album is also to succeed in being high-quality while being so classic and unsurprising. Gibbs only has his character ... read more

2020, for me at least, is a worrying year for hip-hop releases so far. Not a lot of releases have particularly wowed me and those that did shrunk on me. "Alfredo", the collaboration project from Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist, does give me some hope for the rest of the year, even if it won't show up on my year-end list anytime soon. In terms of style, Freddie treads some familiar ground. But it's still a formula that works for him extremely well. His crime boss-esque delivery works ... read more

Just as I thought the year of 2020 was getting worse by the minute, Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist give me a very slight shimmer of relaxation and escape with the nostalgic and immersive “Alfredo”.

This record is Freddie’s best performance, without a doubt. I definitely prefer the production from The Alchemist rather than Madlib, as this is much cleaner and barebones. Even though the production here may be scant, maybe a little sleepy, it compliments the entire theme of ... read more

Just did the goof and accidentally wrote this on the single instead of here, but here I am now

Just when my skepticism was going to haunt me while waiting for that new Yachty, Freddie announces an album out of the blue to keep the stress away.

Alfredo is a Kane X Alchemist 35-minute classic rap odyssey, almost mixtape-like, easygoing vibes all around. The 2018 Fetti where these two teamed with Curren$y comes to mind, that album was of similar nature, a 9-track short all killer, no filler ... read more

MM. FOOD.... was created by MF DOOM, all caps when you spell the man's name. Yes I know it's a weird start how we're talking about an Alchemist album without talking about the album in the intro but what gives? Let me give some context to this finely tuned and near flawless album. MM. FOOD... was an album that featured a lot of references to food starting knishes, cookies and numerous references to popular traditional food from multiple countries, it's a rap album centered around the idea of ... read more

Freddie Gibbs verses are interchangeable. the man has been rapping about the same things for years now and im tired of it. he's still killer at riding the beat and Alc's beats are stellar as usual, i just wish Freddie would get out of his comfort zone every once in a while. at this point in his career, i doubt he'll make anything that really blows me away.

Another sinister, yet entrancing adventure into the world of Freddie Gibbs, backed by some incredible production to boot from The Alchemist.

Alfredo is the collaborative studio album from Indiana hip-hop artist Freddie Gibbs and legendary hip-hop producer The Alchemist. By now, I believe neither of them need much of an introduction or explanation, they've both cemented themselves as some of the most consistent artists in the underground hip-hop scene for years upon years now, and it only makes ... read more

Alfredo is the latest album from Indiana rapper Freddie Gibbs and California producer Alan the Alchemist. When it comes to these two individuals I've always wanted to see how they could work together and how their styles could work with a cohesive project. I've always admired Freddie Gibbs as a performer especially with his slick coke talk and his variety of flows but whenever he's not rapping about the drug life he can actually tell us some great introspective story's. The way that I see it, a ... read more

THIS SPAGHETTI LOOKS SO GOOD!!! I NEED TO EAT IT!!!
Collab tape by Freddie and The Alchemist was my introduction to both of them. And this is very good. Freddie has some of his best performances here. Production by Jewish beatmaker are some of his best. His samle flipping, GOD DAMN. Features here are also amazing. MMMMMAYBACH MUSIC!!!!! Tyler has here one of the best verses in his career. 2 out of 3 core Griselda members also are amazing. Overall this ... read more

Freddie Gibbs is a great artist, and The Alchemist is a great producer. Combine those and get a really great album! The production on this album is unreal. Freddie’s lyricism, rapping, and flows are really great too. This masterful blend of talents leads to an incredible final project, such as this album.

REDO REVIEW #9

In celebration of Freddie being nominated for best rap album this year, I decided to do a redo review of Alfredo. It’s a shock to me that the Grammys would recognize Freddie as he has been snubbed in past years, and I haven’t listened to this album since it came out. And it was a great idea to return to it, as I realized this was one of the best rap albums this year.

Firstly, I want to talk about The Alchemist’s contributions to this thing, and ... read more

Not many people can go bar for bar with Freddie Gibbs. I think it is safe to say that this album cements his prowess as a lyricist. From the jump, his cadence, delivery, flow and lyricism is A1, combining thrilling rhymes with clever rhythms. His musicality is also quite impressive, often switching between duplets and triplets with the ease of a trained jazz musician. Speaking of musicians, the work The Alchemist does on this album is top tier. His production is tailor-made for Freddie Gibbs, ... read more

Still remains one of the best albums of the current decade. It's a project that does justice to old school 90s boom bap, while also adding an extra sense of flavor and originality.

Alchemist's production here is probably my favorite set of beats he's put out in recent years. He delivers some sweet sample loops, with quite a bit of jazz, soul and psychedelia influences. The drums are mostly pretty quiet, but they sound very smooth and natural. Some of these beats have a more lo-fi sound, some ... read more

What an album to return to AOTY with. The 2020 collaboration between Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist, two of the finest hip-hop artists in recent years, is nothing short of spectacular. No one is surprised, but the production is fantastic. It creates a beautiful foundation for the album, allowing Gibbs to create some of his most intricate, deep, and pleasant lyrics ever. The tracks slide into each other seamlessly, especially between “Frank Lucas” and my personal favorite song on ... read more

Discovering albums that stand out as flawless from beginning to end is a challenging endeavor, a rare occurrence that seldom comes one's way. Despite being relatively young, I have many years ahead to explore the vast realm of music, and I've already acquired a substantial amount of knowledge and developed a deep appreciation for various genres.

Throughout my musical journey, I've encountered a few albums that, at first glance, may not seem remarkable. However, as time passes, these albums ... read more

GRAMMY NOMINATED FREDDIE GIBBS LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Freddie Gibbs once again proves he's one of the greats even when he's free styling over some laid back beats. The beats on this are really the best part of it- tracks like Scottie Beam has this classical and beautiful piano that contrast amazingly with Gibbs' gritty voice and dark lyrics and Something to Rap About having a bass-driven and deep guitar to go against Gibbs and ... read more
