The court heard he stole alcohol worth more than £900 from the Tesco store in Wellington Avenue between April 10 and April 13.

He was also in breach of a criminal behaviour order which banned him from entering the store. The order was imposed by the same court on January 25.

Police Sergeant Rob Tiller, from the Aldershot Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Richard Burns is a prolific shoplifter who brazenly targeted the same store over a number of days.

“His actions have impacted our local businesses, shop workers and the wider community.

“We take reports of this crime extremely seriously and we will do all we can to put offenders before the courts.

“Our message is clear – shoplifting and this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated in Aldershot and the wider area.”
