The outside architecture is stunning; the mosaic floor when you enter, is European elegance. The second floor has ample computers for patrons to use. Microfilm, copiers, New York Times, you name it they got it.
But I have experienced subtle, mild cattiness from the second floor staff. I have also sensed a hostile vibe at times towards me from one staff person. (My opinion is based on visiting the Albright Memorial library many, many times.) On one occasion, I heard negative gossip by the second floor staff, about a patron. All this, is no reason not to visit this beautiful library
Will I still go there? Yes. Do I recommend going there? Yes. Will I ask for help while there? Never.
Stop by even if you don't have a card. The architecture is amazing. If you are local, get a card and you can use this or the library in the surrounding communities.
After being amazed at the beautiful exterior come in for the best part. This library has it all. Books, videos, music, computers for research and training. Also a great place for children. They have great events for children and even their own library.
Amazing historical building. You creep and crawl among the stacks. Stained glass, old wood, vintage bathrooms. It's also a heavily used public library, with homeless folks at the computers, strange shelving, and renovations always in progress. You'll love it or hate it.
Came here to do some ancestry work on a Saturday afternoon. Staff was friendly, and very helpful getting me set up with microfilm. Beautiful building with the feel of a castle. Decent number of people studying and working on their computers. What a gem for this community and city!
