Step one: Submit Your Application

The first step is to submit your application above. Belmont Abbey College’s application is free to submit online. An essay is not required for initial submission. If you are a current NC High School student, you will be prompted to create a CFNC (College Foundation of North Carolina) account. This is a free account and it allows you to work on your application over time. If you are not a current NC High School student you will fill out our free Belmont Abbey Online Application.

You have two options for applying to The Abbey: All students applying prior up until October 30 will be Early Action* candidates, and will find out their admissions decision by mail, and electronically on November 6th. After October 30th, all applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, and students who submit their application can expect an admissions decision within one week of completing their file.

Step two: Email Your Transcripts

We accept official and unofficial from all previously attended institutions. Please email these transcripts to admissions@bac.edu. If needed, our mailing address is:

Belmont Abbey College generally accepts transfer credits for courses taken at colleges and universities that are recognized as accrediting bodies by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the U.S. Department of Education (USDE), in which a grade of “C” or better has been earned. Belmont Abbey College will accept a maximum of sixty (60) credit (semester) hours from a community college. However, Belmont Abbey College will transfer a maximum of sixty-four (64) credit (semester) hours for students who graduate under the North Carolina Community College articulation agreement and receive an AA degree. Credit hours, not grade points, are transferred.

If you have international transfer credits, they may be applied based on the appropriate academic credit earned. All foreign transcripts must be evaluated by Education Evaluators International, Inc. or another approved transcript evaluation agency prior to submission to Belmont Abbey College.

Possession of an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. (Applicants with an undergraduate cumulative grade point average of less than a 3.0 are invited to apply for conditional admission.)

To apply to the graduate degrees at Belmont Abbey College, all degrees* require:

1. Application for admission.
2. Paid application fee.
3. Official undergraduate transcripts. Final transcripts reflecting conferral of the undergraduate degree are required prior to enrollment.

There is no deposit required for graduate students.
