The island of Djurgården and its northern mainland extension, Djurgårdsbrunn, impress with a mix of nature and an abundance of museums, while being located in walking distance to Stockholm’s city center. Djurgården not only invites visitors to take endless walks through a beautiful park landscape without having to leave the city, but also offers an incredible range of entertainment facilities, such as an open air museum which specializes in the Swedish way of life pre-industrialization, the renowned Vasa Museum with its legendary sailing ship, and Sweden’s most famous amusement park Gröna Lund, which is more than a 100 years old.

    GREAT EXPERIENCE.
Don't Miss the ABBA MUSEUM while visiting Stockholm. If you have any interest in Music history from the 70's -80's it is Well Worth it. Excellent displays in each room and interactive/recording experiences available. We spent 3 hrs and could if spent longer if had the time. Loved watching them in Cincert in Theater.

    Worth a visit
A great way to kill some time in Stockholm and relive Abba's greatest hits. We paid for the audio guides which was well worth it. The members of Abba narrate the audio guide which makes it all the more interesting. The museum limits the numbers entering by having prebooked slots which is good as it us small and can get quite tight especially if you are hoping to try some of the interactive activities on offer. Overall, we enjoyed our time at the museum. It was close to some of the other museums so we were able to do multiple museums which was also handy.

Fun, Fun and very informative about the four singers.
I enjoyed this museum and learned so much about the group. I especially enjoyed the room where you get to sing on stage with the group! I almost wet my pants laughing at groups of women singing along on the stage! Great fun!

    ABBA Museum a fan favorite
The museum was built with ABBA fans in mind. After seeing it this week, we realized that ABBA was big almost 50 years ago . The museum tells some stories about their lives, plays their music and is part of a small hotel. In all, we were there about 2 hours. Nice museum and I would go again.

    So much fun!
Whether or not you’re an ABBA fan, it’s clear that plenty of love was put into the creation of this museum. There’s no shortage of interesting information about the band, and the interactive elements (e.g. karaoke booths and touch screen games) were a fun touch! It was also really cool to see various artefacts from ABBA’s heyday, including their original stage costumes and props/memorabilia from their tours. I’d budget at least two hours here to really make the most of the experience.

Great - but here are 3 tips
Museum was better than expected and I am an ABBA fan already. There is a small theatre inside, they have very comfortable seats for about 20 people, suggest spending quite a bit of time here, they have a fantastic video story (animated) about ABBA group history, strongly recommend and also a concert video. On the other hand, if you speak English (or Swedish) I would recommend against the Audio guide (only $2 extra, but I found it had to navigate and co-ordinate with the various displays, all of which were well described with signage in Swedish and English.) Very easy to get there on public transit, take the #7 tram from the central station. Suggest pre-buying tickets for one of the first couple morning time slots, and then there are many other good museums with-in a few minutes walk for afterwards.

    Must do when in Stockholm
Absolutely fantastic museum and dispay of AƁBA memorabilia. It was emotional in parts. I wish I could have seen ABBA live back in the day and I'm sure I would have if I had been old enough. People of all ages at this museum and everyone enjoyed it.

    Water-leak not Waterloo!
This is a wonderful museum but allow plenty of time for it (3 hours). After we'd been in for over an hour, we were evacuated, due to a leak tripping the electrics. The staff were really good, and offered us a refund or we could go back on another day. We went back the following day, and although the museum was still partially closed, we were fortunate in that we had already seen the rooms that were closed. What we didn't realise is that there was so much more to see (so the break actually worked in our favour!). It's clear that the band had considerable involvement in setting up the museum, as the attention to detail was really noticeable.

ABA The Museum, an experience not to be missed
Although some of the areas were under renovation due to water damage, we still had a great time. The exhibits and rooms were interactive and kept our interest. We enjoyed the studio and “5th ABBA Member” experience the best. We’ll definitely visit again!

    Great exhibits, small space
Even if you only have a passing interest in ABBA, you’ll love this museum. There’s lots of different displays covering different periods and aspects of the bands’ history plus loads of interactive displays and photo spots for a full immersion experience for all ages. It is however, downstairs and despite the controlled entrance of visitors, it can feel crowded and sometimes difficult to see and read display descriptions or exhibits. If you have any dislike of crowds or small spaces, I’d suggest this isn’t for you as it’s not a spacious museum. Basically, get there as soon as you can to minimise the number of people in ahead of you, and prebook a timeslot if you can, otherwise you need to queue to buy a ticket and then queue again to get in at the next available allotted time which could be over an hour away.

If you like ABBA then you will love this museum. It has all the costumes, you can sing along, you can pretend like you are recording. It has loads of information about the individual members. You can sit down in a movie theatre and watch them on their Australian tour. It also has a hotel attached to it, a lovely bar and restaurant. We had lunch before we ventured in and it was delicious and when finished we had a drink at the bar. I recommend it to anyone who loves their music, even if you don't you will once you have been here.

I was dragged kicking and screaming to the Abba Museum but found some of the history that surrounds the band and individuals associated with it, quite interesting. Firstly you need to buy your tickets online. It pays to buy them a few days ahead if you want a specific timeslot. You do not need to print them as the QR Code on your phone is fine. Take the tram there as it stops right outside. Tram tickets can be bought onboard but with one quirk. If there are more than one of you, you can only buy one ticket with one particularly credit card. So two of you will need two separate cards. Wierd I know!
The museum itself has been expanded to include a Mamma Mia section. Lots of photo opportunities. It will take you about an hour or so.

Loads of positives - the whole ABBA story is exceptionally well presented and documented and if you take the time to read through the posted texts by the exhibits you will really take something away with you. There are also some fun activities if you wish to participate and we found the whole experience to be innovative and well worth the time and money. One or two slight drawbacks exist - the entrance and ticket purchase area is a little chaotic"trafficwise" and deadly if cruise ship parties are in the house! This is one attraction we did not book on line in advance and had to wait 20 minutes to buy a ticket and an extra 45 minutes for a slot. Even with restricted entry numbers per time slot, the rooms, which are quite small, were rather crowded. Definitely recommend making an on-line prior reservation and despite the wait, we walked out very happily!

No need to buy skip the queue tickets (if they do offer it) - I have been 3 times at different times of the year and there has never been a queue.

You would really enjoy if it if you are an ABBA fan. The history, their childhood, the career to being world famous, they are all documented in the museum in a way that is engaging. I like the fact that the band does its own narrative, it makes it more personal.

Have they done it with the most advanced technology like things that you would see in the US, definitely no but that’s also the charm of Sweden in a way.

The most fun I find are all the interactive stations where you can be a DJ, sing in a studio, dance on stage ....as long as you are shy!

One should definitely visit when in Stockholm.

A Great rainy day museum experience in Stockholm. Fun for all the family, music, dance, video and interactive activities.
Take the audio guide to get the best experience. Really well laid out story told by the original band members, as you travel through the museum plus costumes videos and music.
Great for real Abba fans, as well as those who simply like the music.
Take the audio guide to get the best experience.

I liked the museum but since I am someone who is very easily overstimulated, I also went kind of crazy inside. I can imagine spending 1+ hour inside, but because there are multiple videos and songs playing in every room, there is a lot of noise and a lot of stimuli. I will definitely recommend this museum to my extroverted friend but will warn people with ASS (and similar disorders) that it is an intense experience. I advised the staff to hang up a sign to avoid possible crises in the future. But very nice museum and staff!

I was so impressed with the artivacts and the activites available. Everything tied together to tell the story of one of the most successful and well known groups of the '70s. Their music continues to be popular today, and this museum is perfect for all ages.

If you’re an ABBA fan then this a MUST visit when visiting Stockholm but make sure you leave plenty of time. I spent over 4 hours in the museum as I wanted to look at and read everything. There’s also plenty of interactive things to do as well including singing and dancing with the band, quizzes and having a go on the mixing decks amongst others. The option to record a song was unfortunately not available on the day I visited.
If you’re not an avid fan it’s still great and 2 hrs might be enough, but for those that are then plan for longer and book in advance with the option of an audio guide. The guide was excellent and really enhanced the experience but when I went (Friday afternoon) there were no guides available for people just turning up on the day.
All in all - a great day out

Walk in Dance out........they aren't joking. Not a massive Abba fan, well thats what I thought........great fun. Even did the bit where you can sing on stage with the group! I was surprised by the very eclectic mix on people , young to old and from totally different backgrounds! Forget male bravado, every one is tapping there foot, humming and just enjoying it. Even a guy I saw who would have looked better placed having fights with biker gangs!......still singing along to himself!

The first museum we visited upon arrival in Stockholm. Of course they milk every photo, guitar and mic that has anything to do with the famous 4, but you can do some karaoke, dancing, sound mixing, and in total spend 2 hours having a lot of fun. For some it is a walk past memory lane, and for the youngsters it a time machine, a peek into time a not so long ago, when people were global celebrities even without mobile phones, internet or reality shows.
