The Barbie brand Mattel recently announced its "Inspiring Women" series honoring women that pioneered great acts from years past.

The new Barbie series highlights many women of aspiration that, while facing adversity, ultimately beat the odds and set the stage for future female generations. The poplar doll is a hot selling item and is sold out online at Mattel Creations website.

The latest addition to Mattel’s collection includes Dr. Maya Angelou, Ida B. Wells, Rosa Parks and Madam C.J Walker, states the company website.

"To know little girls and big girls will have access to Madam Walker and just that physical symbolism of her story means it’s going to be exploding exponentially in a way it never has before," said A’Lelia Bundles, the great-great-granddaughter of Madam C.J Walker in a news release on the company website.

Walker is known as the first self-made Black woman millionaire. She was born in 1867 to sharecropper parents who were once enslaved and went on to become a pioneer of the modern Black haircare and cosmetics industry, according to the report.

"Walker’s significant contributions to the beauty industry have opened doors for generations of Black women," Bundles added.

Other women highlighted in the "Inspiring Women" Barbie series include Billie Jean King, Hellen Keller, Eleanor Roosevelt, Sally Ride and Ella Fitzgerald, to name a few. The new Barbies from the "Inspiring Women" series are available for order at Walmart, Target, Amazon and Mattel Creations for $35 once the dolls become back in stock.
