      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Gross-out humor overwhelms the easy chemistry between Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, who bring some energy and yucks to this tale of a girl with short-term memory loss and the guy who tries to get her to love him.

Dimitrios B Good nothing world changing but would recommend Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/03/24 Full Review Chloe A It is quite a generic rom-com. However the romance between Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler are undeniably pure and realistic, creating a convincing story that makes for a fun time. The script, although quite basic and at parts is underdeveloped, does manage to make a touching end to the movie which is rather meaningful. Although there was room for improvements in the screenwriting and the delivery was a bit average, the acting between the two leads and the comedic inputs are what make this movie worth the while. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/25/24 Full Review Daniel S Great except for the lead lady she is not a good actress. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/24 Full Review Eye C One of my all time favorites movies, I lost count of how many times I've watched this since its premiere in a movie theater, and it makes me laugh as the first time. Love it. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/24 Full Review jigssup Great feel good movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/24 Full Review Luke R Such a good movie. It's so hilarious, and a feel good movie. Simon Braund Empire Magazine Gossamer thin, but lots of fun nevertheless. Rated: 4/5 Apr 1, 2006 Full Review Wally Hammond Time Out Quite what age group this soft-centered entertainment is aimed at is hard to divine. Jan 26, 2006 Full Review Nick Schager Lessons of Darkness This dopey film has virtually nothing going for it but its genial stars. Rated: C- May 3, 2005 Full Review Cory Woodroof 615 Film Aside from some of the churlish material, this has to be one of Sandler’s best from his original run. He’s actually committed to a vision here, and the story actually tries to find the poignancy in its premise rather than just the humor. Oct 21, 2022 Full Review Leigh Paatsch Herald Sun (Australia) Effective combination of sweet romantic comedy and broad slapstick that often plays like a direct cross between Groundhog Day and When Harry Met Sally. Rated: 2.5/5 May 12, 2020 Full Review Cole Smithey ColeSmithey.com ...has an unexpected emotional undertow and enough hard-won laughs to make it succeed.
