      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

In some ways, Thor: Love and Thunder feels like Ragnarok redux -- but overall, it offers enough fast-paced fun to make this a worthy addition to the MCU.

Even though Thor: Love and Thunder's constant silliness makes it hard to invest in the more serious sides of the story, there's still plenty here to enjoy.

Jacob C I can't quite put this movie into a genre. If I had to choose I would say superhero sci-fi but also comedy... but also romance? It was everything we needed to see from Thor and Jane's relationship, but also the character arc furthering what Thor is doing now since many of his team members who end up becoming what is left of his family are now gone. Who is Thor without Asgard and without the Avengers? This movie answers these questions. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/20/24 Full Review William D Don’t make another Thor movie please you already ruined him. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/24 Full Review Craig it doesn't surpass Ragnarok. which is nearly perfect for a more comedic marvel movie. but It has some good stuff. it's funny, tho some of the jokes deserve more of a chuckle, and some a good eye roll. Still thors character arch is one of the best. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/15/23 Full Review Aaron K I liked that it was a true comic book style movie. I disliked the fact that it was a comic book movie that was seemingly written by an 8 year old. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/08/23 Full Review Jacob Family guy episode repackaged as marvel with less effort Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/27/23 Full Review Cade L My guess is that the extended cut/director’s cut is way better. Gorr (Bale) needed more screen time. Way too goofy of a plot and ending, the film felt completely unserious by the end. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Christina Newland iNews.co.uk Hemsworth has always been likeable as the smug superhero-god with the Adonis-like physique to match, but the risky attempt to transfer that charisma or to spread it around to other characters is not a gamble that pays off. Rated: 2/5 Oct 21, 2022 Full Review Tom Shone Times (UK) ... Not just the best Marvel movie yet made, but a bona fide camp comedy classic: fast, bright, gaudy, prickly, antic and fun. Rated: 5/5 Aug 24, 2022 Full Review Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review The jokes, the catch-phrases, just incredibly tired... Aug 3, 2022 Full Review Aglaia Berlutti El Robot Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder is a gigantic fable. Also, a tour of all the high points of Ragnarok and a recasting of the hero. All, in a package of dazzling brilliance that, at times, can be irritating.
